Is Jimi Agbaje The Modern Prince Afonja Of Oyo Empire? by sunkoye: 8:57am On Apr 10, 2015
History says Afonja was a Prince in Oyo. He also has a right to the throne of Great Oyo Empire that has influence across nations politically and economically..
in those rich days, the only warlord of the empire is called Are onakankanfo. the warlords are always very powerful that the position can only the given to a slave. this was to preserve the throne against any ambitious powerful warlord. the point is no slave can reign as king in OYO.

History said Afonja was an ambitious Prince. He lobbied the OYO mesi to appoint him the new Are onakankanfo which will make him powerful enough to destroy the king as a prince and a warlord.

The king of OYO suspected foul play when afonja a high level prince is also a powerful warlord. The king made consults and decided to deal with the issue with tradition- where new warlord battles one of the numerous king’s enemy to show allegiance. The King seized the opportunity and demand he fight an enemy he knew he cannot defeat.

Prince Afonja fled OYO with rage knowing the request of the King was suicidal. But Outsmarted and lonely prince was determined to deal decisively with the king by requesting the help of Fulanis as mercenaries to fight the empire. Oyo empire would lose the battle but was not conquered.

Afonja retreated to Ilorin to start a new kingdom but the fulanis were not ready to leave. internal political struggle ensues and The Prince would later be killed , Emir installed and reigned as Oba instead in Yoruba land till date.

Coming back to our very time!

OYO is Just like Lagos Empire with political and economic influence across Southwest beyond. Lagos is like a bride that every region want an alliance with.

This resent political attitude of procuring other tribes to get block vote pose a similar drive in history of the ambitious prince.

If we sync these two scenarios I bet there are numerous similarities.

the outcome of Lagos Election will sure determine alot of things in Yoruba Destiny. not just now but future Generations.

Afonja ko, afonobo ni! A slave always a slave. Tinubu a man from osun has the right to aspire for the postition of governor in lagos state brought a yes man to power to protect his dynasty after stealing the state to high heaven(govenor emeritus), but Agbaje, a true son of the soil does not have the right to aspire for the number office in his state? Olosho po ni eko. Many reason some pple never get prosper in life since they are psychogically enslaved from generation to generation.

Do you know Ambode graduated as an accountant from University of Lagos at the age of 21?

Do you know he became a Chartered accountant at the age of 24 ?

Do you know he became a fellow of the Institute of chartered accountants at the age of 36 ?

Do you know he was the second best graduating student in WAEC+HSE at Federal government college Warri ?

Do you know JK was a strong Tinubu boy in ACN but left the party when Tinubu decided to pick fashola over him simply because Tinubu felt fashola would do better in governance because he is a lawyer and SAN while JK is a Pharmacist ? Do you know it was the potentials that Tinubu saw in Fashola that now became evident to all of us in the governance of Fashola ?

Do you know Ambode was the Accountant General of Lagos state when Federal Government was not giving Lagos state any Allocation at all for some years(Tinubu was the governor) ? And Ambode/Tinubu had to put creative minds together to run lagos for four years(despite the huge population and responsibility) ?

Do you know Ambode has 26 years of Administrative/accounting experience ?

Ambode is a quiet man and he does not blow his horn too loud, but he is quality, just like Fashola.

Let's put sentiments aside, let's vote in the best interest of lagos.

Ambo, Atide. Eko oni Baje.

Lagoon threat and this story will not stop us from going out en masse to vote for Jimmy Agbaje.

This election isn't about alignment with the center (cōck n bull story), it's about making a statement and telling our political godfathers that the more ambitious they get, the more they loose their most important strongholds.

This election will tell if Lagos is ready to be liberated from the hands and pocket of one man.

We watch one man hand pick our leaders all the time when he is not God? The people have the right to choose and we choose Jimmy. APC at the center, PDP in Lagos, that beefs up the competition.

Mind you, why do we need change if we can't bring people that will tackle our corrupt godfathers? I see Jimmy Agbaje as that man we crave for and not puppet Ambode.

Vote wisely, Vote Jay Kay.
