The budget was delayed because of the shenanigans at the House of Reps wit Tambuwwal. The Senate had agreed on a BENCHMARK for oil prices. No doubt PDP was expecting to win. Now they have lost, technically they an still legally pass a budget but will they? How likely is this? on the other hand it would be a huge challenge for an incoming government to have as its first task the passing of a budget. This is not as easy as it sounds without access to government documents and records and generally takes months. What is the way forward ? an interim budget just to pay salaries for a few months or what?
