The most famous one I know is of Bayajidda and how the 7 Hausa states were formed. See, Bayajidda was a warrior (i think) who was running from his father in law.

One day, after a very long an exhausting journey., he arrived in some city where he requested water from an old woman. She didn't have any and she couldn't go fetch from the well because there was a snake gaurding the well and it allowed them to fetch water only once a week. Bayajidda got him warrior self up and slew the snake.

The people of the town were so grateful and the queen even more so. She asked him what he would like for his reward and he aid her hand in marriage.

They got married and had even sons who are the 7 Original Hausa States,

Fulani/Hausa are the legendary looters on top of the food chain who have kept this country backward with their nomadic way of reasoning.

Thank you mccloud for that post. (((CLAPPING)))

Although we usually recommend posters remain sober before they post but we'll give you a pass on this one since we suspect yours isn't a case of being drunk but a case of skipping the Get Your Brains here line on the day the Good Lord was handing them out.

Mr. Mccloud everybody (((CLAPPING)))

Most myths and Mythology and Legends stories in Hausa Land have long disappears. The only thing that is well documented are the histories of movement of people and how they wage wars. After the Islamic Jihad, most myths did not survive because they are regarded as spreading false.

The Kano chronicle is one of the few documents that survive and dates at least 1000 years. But even that book just contain names of kings, their period of reign and some major events. Nothing much to cherish. Then there is the Legend of Queen Amina of Zazzau.

And to be honest, Fulbe (Fula or Fulani) one is even more serious. We don't have such stories that we hold dearly that passes from generation to generation. The only thing they teach us when growing is the art of cattle rearing and self defence. The only legend associated with the Fulbe in Nigeria is Usman dan fodiyo and then each state have their own flag bearer. And then probably each family have an ancient grandfather that they considered different from other people.
