In Lawrenceville Georgia a mother brought her 15-year-old daughter into Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta and she is now being charged with child cruelty. Her autistic daughter who only weighed 60 pounds revealed that her mother Jade Jacobs kept her locked in a closet for long time periods. A nurse ended up calling the police.

According to CBS:
The nurse told police the girl weighed 60 pounds and had bruising on her.
According to the police report, Jacobs told the hospital staff there was an altercation between the girl and her sister.

Jacobs told police the girl had begun to eat her own feces. The nurse said Jacobs brought in an eating plan but it did not appear they were following it.
Police told CBS46 News the teen was kept in a closet for long periods of time.

“It was discovered that the victim would be locked in that room with the use of a dumbbell, so she could not get out,” said Corporal Ed Ritter. “It was a 50-pound dumbbell that would block the doorway. The room that she was staying in smelled and reeked of feces and urine. The floor was sticky from the urine.” The nurse told police the girl was eating all she could get her hands on while she was at the hospital.

The girl had bruising on her right eye and around her left ear, lacerations on her lip and several pressure sores on her knees and buttocks. A next door neighbor told CBS46 News the family moved in a few weeks ago and kept to themselves. He was surprised to learn of the charges Jacobs faces.
