nice work Borussia but there are a few corrections Ethiopia was never colonized instead they defeated Italy during Italy's quest for colonization; only Eritrea which was previously part of Ethiopia was under Italian rule in late 1800s. Eritrea was annexed by Ethiopia, Eritrea later fought for independence from Ethiopia. Liberia got its independence from USA on 26 July 1847. Western Sahara is officially not independent. Spain relinquished its colonial power on Western Sahara in 1975 after UN resolution. Morocco and Mauritania both claim the western Sahara as its territory due to historical ties. Algeria opposes the claim of Morocco and Mauritania by sponsoring their drive for independence. |

So south Africa is an elder brother to Nigeria. Little wonder they are punishing them. |

Why do people say South Africa became independent in 1994? I remember wondering about that because I've always known South Africa to be independent. |

https://www.quora.com/When-did-South-Africa-gained-independence-How-did-they-accomplish-it So, according to this quora question, South Africa began democracy in 1994, which I guess is considered the date (maybe informal) of independence? |

mekonglobal: South Africa was a British colony then so they hold the British power. It’s just as saying Britain colonize Namibia but it’s just administered under South Africa. So SA in that context is not the blacks but the British. |
