As far as i'm concerned Buhari is the president-elect but still a private individual until he assumes leadership. It is his prerogative to determine who covers whatever until he holds the mantle of leadership. I also think it is bound to be the end of AIT as we know it. There's nothing wrong with being critical about any individual but there must be some level of decorum especially in the broadcast industry that is thought to be higly guided by a code of ethics for operation. AIT played a game of Russian Roulette and lost terribly. The fallout is what we are witnessing. The blatant lies they told could have led to widespread disturbance and almost did. 3 Likes 1 Share |

When you have a TV station which does not stick to the ethics of its profession, spreading deadly lies about you, conniving with the Govt in power, rubbishing your image, after collecting Bribe from jonathan, will you still allow them to be close to you, when you come to power? Channels TV was also bribed, exactly a few days after the election was postponed .... when the Chairman/DG of the NBC came to their office and said Govt was giving them MONEY TO DIGITALIZE! For crying our aloud, Channels TV was the most "digitalized" station in Nigeria, even before now. Just after that, you could sense the change in their "tone" during all interviews as they gave more time to PDP contributors, will "drill APC guests" to the bone while cutting some slack for PDP guests on set. But they NEVER resorted to the blatant character assassinations that AIT and Dokpesi resorted to. If l were Buhari, l will simply sack the DG of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission first, then appoint someone who will ensure and enforce that TV stations which dont stick to the "Ethics of TV programming" (like AIT), have their License completely REVOKED. He is so democratic that he is the first civilian president not to allow the formality of presidential primaries on reelection, what was he afraid of? He is so democratic the coward had IGP of police lock down the National Assembly to spite Tambuwai. GEJ loves democracy so much that he interferred (not intervened) with the NGF elections and recognized Jang as chairman as against Amaechi who clearly won by 19 votes to 15. So extensive are his democratic values that with with tacit approval 5 members of Rivers State house of assembly with the help of thugs and police drove away 27 of their colleagues and purpored to impeach a speaker who was not present not presided over the show of shame. Of course his version of democracy is so infectious that in Ekiti 7 out of 26 members of the state house of assembly for months now have been sitting and passing laws (including the appropriation bill) for governor fayose to sign. Still on Ekiti your 'hero' president said he would not investigate the 'Ekiti leaked tape' scandal (not even at the party level) because in his mind "it is a fabrication by the opposition". Now why would your GEJ be calling something as serious as that a fabrication when he was not at the said venue, when he had not ordered an investigation nor received report on same? Why would the president of the largest democracy say such even when the principal actors admitted their participation in the context of the conversation of the tape but gave varied interpretations as to the conversation which was not obscured by noise or any acoustic anomaly? Why? Sanusi raised an alarm as CBN governor and was suspended less than two months to his tenure without even having the national assembly question him extensively as to such a serious claim, but other principal actors like Deziani Madueke retained their jobs with glowing recommendations from the presidency.Where do I start from? Is it the naked and unabated corruption? The rudderless foreign policy, insecurity despite trillions squandered the commander in chief achieved more decisive victories against Boko Haram in 2 weeks of February than 3 years. What about your treasury despite getting the highest windfall in history, rule of law as examplified by executive impunity. These are the legacies of GEJ and not conceeding an obvious defeat because he presided over the largest rejection of a sitting president in Nigeria's electoral history despite all the unorthodox methods applied on his behalf to remain in power including the fact that the democratic formality of a presidential primaries was waived for him which is what led to PDP's loss.
