Thank you Barcanista, this and more are the reasons why Nigeria will not succeed. Sudan, Czechoslovakia etc learnt the hard way. The injustice being meted against the Igbos and also the Niger Delta is mind boggling and oppression/injustice can never be permanent. Nigeria ship is bound to hit an ice berg if nothing is done to steer it away from such state sponsored injustice.

North is not one entity but they are doing their politics well. North comprises of many ethnic groups.

North has bigger population.

South is politically backward.

Nigeria is a fraud. We need to know how. Any we truly are in this. Iberia through a credible census. So far so good, all census aimed at exposing the fraud in the north has always been met with stiff opposition by the northerners. God is watching. This is one of the reasons why they could go to the polls with under aged voters and the world kept mute.

I think the OP's concern is holistic and it even includes this population figure that Kano is larger than Lagos in population. let's stop acting like we don't know that Nigeria has been skewed to favour a part of this country more than others.
In one of my posts here, I mentioned that a sane census needs to be done. But to use the current Census which the OP is indirectly using and claim inequity is not right unless he wants to throw in tribal sentiments(which he has a precedence of doing)

Even the talk of population is no justification. In Bosnia, ethnic Bosniaks enjoy 48% of the total population, Croats have just 17%, it didn't stop them from sharing seats evenly.

are seats shared according to ethnicity in Nigeria NO!!!

your comparative analysis should not be with a Country that does so based on ethnic affiliations.

Nigeria is too complex for you to compare us with Kosovo or Bosnia and Herzegovina

Barcanista is really pained. I don't even know what to type again. Me APC brothers, let's stop resurrecting his old threads. His heart is being broken. As for those saying pdp will field a northerner, my question is why did Buhari lose in 3 consecutive times, earning him the name 'serial loser' with the same north?
Buhari lost in kogi, kwara, taraba, niger, benue plateau, abuja, nasarawa and Adamawa maybe these were southern states then. This election was 80% based on competency and not tribe. You know those that voted based on tribe. Thanks to the south west that didn't consider religion in this election. I couldn't believe Buhari could ever win in the south west looking at how they voted in 2011 and even left their own Bakare for Jonathan. Let's see what Buhari has for us. If he messes up, nobody needs to tell us what to do but there is one thing:
PDP WILL NEVER RULE NIGERIA AGAIN. We will vote KOWA

Why did you type Kano and Lagos in bold? You are more intelligent than this. So you don't know that they are the most populated states in Nigeria.
Barcanista politics is changing your mentality. I'm serious now

Well written.

Barcanista, would you have come up with a thread like this one if GEJ won the election?

Could GEJ have won in 2011 without winning the northern states he won?

Seriously, you have better capacity than what you have allowed sentiments to do to you.

Lastly, I see that today marks your 2 years on NL, would you want me to do a thread to mark the anniversary? A compilation of your blockbuster threads will be fine.

I understand. But irrespective of what the census figure reveals, it should never be a determinant of how resources are going to be shared. So, it won't matter to anyone whether Kano has more population than the entire south. People should manage and control the resources in their areas. If they wanna have 100 LGAs they're free to do so as long as they can fund them. We don't want a situation where the census figures are tampered to give some people undue advantage over others.

In another post here, I said we should have at least 80% resource control. The remaining to the FG and then everyone can mange their resources.
That was when the OP said we should go back to there zones when even within states, there is no unity.
But to say we should have equal number of reps is laughable and just wrong

Thank you. I had expected Jonathan to make for a framework that will make the final report of the confab to be subjected to UN supervised referendum. Even at the Confab, delegates from non-SS/SE states rejected the 50% derivation demand. They instead insulted our sensibilities by proposing 18% for the mineral producing areas and 5% for "insurgency areas". This the South rejected and no agreement was eventually reached. Subjecting that report to NASS really got me upset

Your lie is from the pit of hell. Competency is not to far from sincerity. They are brothers that co-habit hand in hand. If the born to rule meant it well from the onset every single head in this country would not be crying foul today - sincerity would have taken its course then.

Today competency as you say would have been the order of today's electoral but that is if and only if sincerity was the foundation of Nation's democratic process.

What you saw happen against GEJ isn't competence is was machinations carried out as a result of already laid biased, crooked course in the beginning. It was an activation of it for the first time.

Who won't be pained?
If those countries Barcanista talked about went about it the Nigerian way don't you think it will result in pain and unnecessary agitation you are accusing barcanista of?

They had the foresight and avoided it

For this reason we the NDeltans are all pained and we have risen to make our voices count. Unfortunately, voices aren't heard in this part of the world...so what next do you suggest?

Isn't it too early to start crying foul. But come to think of it, your region held sway for six years..during that time your leaders didnt deem it fit to address these imbalance. Rather, they went on a rampage of looting d treasury dry and overseeing the largest lost of lives at peace time in the history of this nation.

Any way, you are not likely to come from either the SS OR SE. But if by any chance you are from SS or SE, you need political education.
