I'm surprised that someone said these proverbs are Yoruba proverbs. What u should know is that African tradition is almost the same especially in the area of proverbs, idioms and folktales. That is why most folktales have the character of tortoise in most of the traditions. Meanwhile let me add one or two to spice up the thread: 1.
