I'm surprised that someone said these proverbs are Yoruba proverbs. What u should know is that African tradition is almost the same especially in the area of proverbs, idioms and folktales. That is why most folktales have the character of tortoise in most of the traditions.
Meanwhile let me add one or two to spice up the thread:
1. This one good, this one good na him make craze pick house full.
2. No mata the speed of moto for tv , e nor go fit kill who they watch am.
3. Na hunger make native doctor eat winch food.
4. Na aproko monkey dey receive hunter bullet.
I get them plenty sha grin

About 65% of the proverbs on this list are YORUBA proverbs transliterated to pidgin.
i beg to be corrected.

Only a true Yoruba (omo odo agba) will understand Not all these yorubas they speak in the city

the world is quite big u know,... not a little hamlet filled with enclave warlords

a more conciliatory comment ought to be something like this:

"wow. I thought these sayings were unique to my yorubas only. now I realise that we the yoruba's share lots of sayings with other tribes including the urhobos"
