Olympics Qualifier: Super Falcons ready for Mali, coaches assure Nigerians.
Lagos – Super Falcons’ coach, Edwin Okon has assured the country of the team’s readiness to beat Mali in the All Africa Games (AAG) qualifier.
The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled for May 9 at the Abuja National Stadium.
In a statement on Monday, Okon said that the team had been working night and day to perfect its strategies to defeat Mali.
He stated that the players were in high spirits and were strong enough to beat the Malians again.
“Our camp is bubbling with sweetness.
“ You can see that preparations are high; we are not sleeping and we cannot sleep until we accomplish the task ahead.
“ We just have to work to make sure that we beat Mali well here so that when we get to their turf, we won’t have to do too much work there.
“We are mentally, tactically and physically ready,” Okon said.
Similarly, Assistant Coach of the team, Justine Madugu said in the statement that the Falcons were not going to leave anything to chance.
“We are working on every department of the team.
“The fact that it is a knock out competition means we need to take advantage of our playing at home first to score as many goals as possible so that the second leg will be much more comfortable for us.
“ We will also not take the match for granted, we hope to beat them silly at home.
“We are working hard to perfect noticeable lapses in the team and correct them before the match day, so, we are not taking anything to chance,’’ Madugu said.(NAN).
