The cargo volume increased by 46% comparing to April last year and grew by 11% in total for the whole last year. US Port of Houston reported the growth of each category, and containers and autos take a huge part of it.
Houston port also represents the new largest ship-to-shore cranes that Konecranes ever built. Such improvements costed to the Port authorities about USD 700 million. It is also planned to expand the port's facilities and create more jobs the nearest time, as Port Commission Chairman Janiece Longoria stated.
