Kevlar® is a material formed by combining para- phenylenediamine and terephthaloyl chloride. Aromatic polyamide (aramid) threads are the result. They are further refined, by dissolving the threads and spinning them into regular fibres. When woven, Kevlar® forms a strong and flexible material. If layers of the woven Kevlar® are combined with layers of resin, the resulting ‘rigid’ material is light and has twenty times the strength of steel. It is also superior to specialist metal alloys. However, Kevlar® is expensive due to the demands of the manufacturing process and the need for specialist equipment.
KEVLAR, KEVLAR 29 AND KEVLAR 49
There are three main types of Kevlar®.
1. Kevlar® is used as a reinforcement material for some car tyres and bicycle tyres. It helps dramatically reduce puncture rates. This standard of tyre is more expensive than ordinary road tyres. They are of particular use with 4 x 4 vehicles, especially when the vehicle is being used off road and far away from recovery services.
2. Kevlar® 29 is used in the manufacture of body armour (panels) for lightweight military vehicles. A good example is the US Army’s ‘Bradley Fighting Vehicle’. This has been used extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kevlar® 29 was selected for its armour, because it is lightweight and withstands attack from RPGs. The Kevlar® 29 panels protect the soldiers inside the vehicle. Kevlar® 29 is ideal because it is lightweight and non-flammable and it offers protection from high temperatures (fire bombs, Molotov cocktails etc...). Kevlar® 29 can also withstand the harsh environmental conditions, found in hot climates.
3. Kevlar® 49 is used for specialist boat hulls and in the aerospace industry. It is popular as a material for boats because it is lightweight and can withstand a considerable amount of force (torque - twisting force), tensile stress and impact. Hulls manufactured from traditional materials, such as fibreglass, are limited in their resistance to forces and stress. Also, a lightweight boat is faster on the water and uses less fuel to complete distances. Eurofighter is relatively light compared to other similar fighter jets, due to the selection of Kevlar ® 49 as a material in its manufacture. This means that it can fly faster and further, before in-flight refuelling is needed. It is more agile than its rivals due to excellent force (torque - twisting force) and tensile stress resistance. The plane is more likely to survive being hit by small arms fire, compared to other fighter planes, as Kevlar ® 49 has excellent impact resistance.
FURTHER ADVANTAGES OF USING KEVLAR Kevlar® has a range of advantages, not only its relative low weight and high strength: Laminated Kevlar® is very stable at high temperatures and it is impact and scratch resistant. Kevlar® is often combined with other materials, to produce textiles with enhanced properties, such as fire resistant clothing for the Fire Services. Kevlar is used in some quality walking boots because it is waterproof (when combined with other materials as a composite) but also breathable, ensuring comfort. When Kevlar is used as a composite with rubber, it retains its flexibility. This composite material is used in the manufacture of Formula One Racing Car petrol tanks. The tank holds the petrol safely, even in the event of an accident. The material cannot be pieced by other car components, even during a high speed impact. The petrol does not escape / leak, avoiding fire and explosions. The lightweight tank, adds to the reduced weight of the entire vehicle, leading to a faster racing car.

If you’re having second thoughts about buying an Infinix device with Android Kitkat simply because you are waiting for the delayed software updates to Lollipop, then you are currently missing out on a lot.
Latest versions of Infinix phones are based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Although the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop only runs on a miniscule number of smartphones right now, it is natural for any potential smartphone buyer to expect it in their new handset. But then we did a quick feature comparison and jotted down things that you’ll be missing out and not missing out if you buy an Infinix phone today. Here are some of them:
Many of the headline features Google baked into Lollipop, in fact, are part of Infinix phones already. Obviously, the Material Design animations throughout the UI, default support for the new ART runtime and some others aren’t present in Infinix devices. But here’s a comparison of the ones that are already available and how different they are in operation from Infinix stock Android:

1) Quick Settings

Although most phone makers have been putting quick settings in their variants of Android, it took Google till Android 5.0 to finally bake it into the stock build. And no doubt, they’ve done a fabulous job by not just giving simple on-off toggles, but even relevant information right in there. For instance, you can check your data usage within the quick settings menu itself.

Nevertheless, the basic toggle functionality is available in Infinix device that run Android 4.4.2 too, including the controlling of brightness levels and music playback. You can scroll through all possible toggles including ones to lock the phone screen, and change sound profiles.

2) Guest Mode

Guest mode is one of the best features of Android Lollipop, using which you can hand over your phone to anybody without the fear of them snooping on your personal stuff. Although Infinix doesn’t have the ability to create multiple user accounts, there are several applications that you can use to restrict use of applications that you do not want other users to have access to. These security applications are available on the Google Playstore.

3) Trusted Bluetooth Devices

A feature that Motorola pioneered in 2013 with the first Moto X, that Google later borrowed in Android Lollipop, is also available on Infinix devices.
As simple as it sounds, you can add Bluetooth devices that you own, like a smartwatch or fitness band or a car audio system, and the phone doesn’t require a confirmation to pair these devices. This feature is immensely useful if you’re the owner of any of those devices, as it frees you from the repetitive activity of unlocking your phone in their vicinity, but puts the guard back on when the phone isn’t paired to any.

4) Battery Saver

Android Lollipop has a simplistic Battery Saver mode that reduces battery consumption by turning off some features like animations, background app syncing and slowing the processor down. Infinix’s Hot and Hot Note battery saver mode is comparatively more advanced, offering 3 preset battery saving profiles like ‘Power Save’, ‘Low Power’ and ‘Ultra power’. You can even edit these profiles, choosing the activity of things that eat into the battery. These profiles can automatically kick in depending upon the battery state of your phone.

5) Do Not Disturb

Android Lollipop brought about ‘Priority Mode’, which was an intermediary between regular sound profiles and Do Not Disturb (DND). It lets you white list certain apps and contacts, that can pass through an otherwise ‘silent’ mode.

And it’s not like there will never be an Infinix Stock Rom based on Lollipop, Infinix R and D team did confirm they’re working hard to make it happen by the 3rd quarter of 2015.

What will be interesting to see then would be the integration of these overlapping features.

Infinix Zero 2 specs and User reviews
5.0 – inch HD AMOLED display, with 720 ×
1280 pixels (294 PPI) with Gorilla Glass 3
Android KitKat 4.4.2
MediaTek MT6592 chipset with octa-core 2.0
GHz Cortex and 2 GB of RAM.
13 MP Autofocus camera with LED flash,
pixel count 3120 x 4160 pixels and Video
recording of 1080p.
5 MP 85 degree wide-angle, front-facing
camera, with pixel count 2560 x 1920 pixels
and 480p video recording.
Fully partitioned 32 GB internal storage
( 27 GB usable).
Dual SIM support, Both Micro-SIM, 3G
switchable, and hot swapping.
2300mAh battery, Non-removeable.

Hardware and Design:
The Infinix Zero 2 is a very interesting piece
of hardware. First you notice that it’s
unbelievably slim. Far. Slimmer that it’s
predecessor and the sides have a smooth
metal finishing.
The front offers you HD AMOLED screen with
scratch resistant Gorilla glass 3, and front
facing 5 MP camera. At the top you see the
micro USB port and 3.5 mm earphone jack.
The left hand side carries the Dual SIM tray
while on the right hand side bears, the
micro SD card slot, volume rockers and
power button, in that order.
The bottom side features the external
microphone and speakers. We like the
positioning of speakers such that leaving
the phone on a surface doesn’t block off
sound. The back side is made of ‘bullet
proof’ Kevlar material.
The bezels on the upper and lower sides
are too big. This device has onscreen
buttons which is cool, but it’s bad that
the bezel on the lower part is just empty.
Since we have onscreen buttons the lower
bezel should’ve just been eliminated or
reduced in the the best way possible.

Software and Display UI:
The Infinix Zero 2 shipped Android KitKat
4.4.2 on board. After first boot an OTA
update popped up with a few bug fixes. This
phone comes with an updated form of Aliyun
OS , dark themed with a revamped new look
icons. And very appealing to the eyes, far
better improved from what we have seen in
previous Infinix models.
Here we have a 5 inch AMOLED HD display
with a resolution of 720 x 1280. The display
is super crisp and sharp. Viewing angles is
superb, Sunlight legibility is great. The on
screen buttons somewhat takes up some
part of the screen.

Camera:
The 13 MP camera of the Infinix Zero 2 is
super sharp. The sensor takes in lots of
detail even in dark areas the flash does
just fine. One peculiar thing here, in low
light conditions and with flash turned off,
the camera still manages to come up with
fine images.
Here we have a 5 MP 85 degree wide-angle
front camera. Plenty heads can be
accommodated in a selfie. Picture resolutions
appear in 2560 x 1920 pixels. Awesome!

Multimedia:
Music playback is great on the Infinix Zero
2. The volume is loud and clear. The
default music player has a nice interface
with sound effects feature. Watching videos
here is really cool not forgetting the HD
AMOLED display. We were able watch 1080p
videos smoothly and hassle free.

Multitasking /Performance:
Now here’s the sweetest part of the Infinix
Zero 2. This phone is fast, everything is
fast, one touch in a twinkle of an eye it
responds. See the results of the Antuntu
and Quadrant tests.

Battery life:
The Infinix Zero 2 has an average battery
life. With 2 SIM cards installed, steady 3G,
4 hours of hotspot, 2 hours movie playback
we were able to churn out approximately 8
hours before the phone gave up. In simple
English, if you’re a heavy phone user, you
need a power bank by your side if you want
this phone to last a whole day. You can
choose to activate the inbuilt power save
mode to churn out extra hours.

Miscellaneous:
Delving around the settings we noticed you
can actually change fonts on this phone
without even rooting. If Gesture controls is
your thing, be glad because there are lots
of available options you can customize to
your taste. USB OTG works smoothly, Call
clarity is OK. The SIM slot is hot swappable
– this means you can swap/change your SIM
cards without having to reboot your device. Source from mobilityarena
