I have money that I intend buying up shares with. But This time around, I want to buy shares of foreign companies in a foreign country (eg shares of netflix, bloomberg, BP etc).

How do I go about it?? Can my local stock broker facilitate the deal?? Do I need to travel abroad in order to purchase those shares?? Urgent answers needed.

Not sure if the investors in Nigeria can help but there are tons of online trading platform you can use, like Ameritrade but you will have to have an account with them or a reputable bank. As long as you are not going into short selling of stocks or margin trading, you will be accepted if you fund your account although Nigeria's credibility outside nigeria has taken a big hit due to 419

Also consider the foreign exchnge risk. US market also charge witholding tax of between 15 to 30 % so do your home work well
