Nigeria’s President-elect, General
Muhammadu Buhari, says Nigeria will
continue to cooperate with its neighbours
in order to reduce insurgency and
insecurity.
This is part of the incoming government’s
efforts to ensure the security of lives and
properties in the country.
Speaking in an interview with the media,
shortly after a meeting held behind
closed doors with Chadian President,
Idris Derby, in Abuja, the nations capital
on Monday, General Buhari said that his
administration would undertake a
comprehensive review of the security
situation, with a view to curtail all forms
of insurgency and terrorism.
President Derby, who spoke in French,
congratulated the President-elect and
promised to strengthen the bilateral
relations between Nigeria and Chad.
