Great farmers, we all talk of production and marketing. Making money, profit, .........money is our focus always. Lets come to safety talk this time around. Farming has come into exsistence as far back as human emergence on the planet called earth. It will remain in exsistence when we all depart ( I pray we shall not die young). The most important thing is that we leave long to impact the sector and promote its quality.
It has become obvious that this topic is beyond my scope alone. I thereby implore all practical farmers, agric service providers, value chain members and other stakeholders to contribute to this thread and make agribusiness a hazard-free practice.
Stay following as we unriddle the puzzle

One of the simplest tools for farming is cutlass. Handling cutlass needs great care. Be careful. Many have sustained avoidable injury. Wear rain-boot while working.

Do not place pesticides and herbicides within the reach of young children.

Ensure your farm house environment is clean and free from weed. This is to prevent snakes.

Always wear protective boots when possible.

Label your knapsack sprayers clearly. The one for herbicides shouldbjot be used for pesticides or fertilizer application.

Always wash your hand after every visit to the farm.

Dont assume snakes are not in the bush nearby. They always are.

When burning bush, be careful of the possibility of sudden reptile exits.

Never leave your child alone to forage solitary parts of the farm.

Have a safety plan and always follow it.

Ensure your workers are dressed for work. Right apparel and tools. Lead by example.

The tractor is a powerful equipment. Handle with care. Ensure the PTO is fully secured and not in the reach of human flesh during operation.

Any tips to prevent insect bites with serious consequences for farm workers
First thing is sanitation. Keep your farm(of any type) clean. Then identify the likely insect that can cause trouble and their hideout. Destroy them before they attack. tnx

When buying boots for your farm make sure to go for steel toe caps, these are rain boots of industrial application that has metal on the toe area & under the feet to protect your toes and your leg from accidents.

Make sure you wear a hat like the Fulani's does to keep you from getting dehydrated by the sun.

Get binoculars so you can see things far beyond you and before it moves close.

Always carry a pocket knife in case of emergency to protect your life.

May God bless your hustle
