A female lecturer at the Ekiti State University in Nigeria's southwestern city Ado-Ekiti and two other women were kidnapped this afternoon along Igbole Ekiti road in Ido Osi Council area of Ekiti State.

Sade Alade was traveling with her husband and the other two yet to be identified women when the suspected kidnappers ambushed their 4-wheel drive vehicle and ordered the man out of the Jeep. The abductors drove away with the three women afterwards.

A family member of the lecturer who broke the news of the abduction said they were traveling to attend a wedding at Igbole Ekiti when the kidnappers struck.

Ekiti Police Command Public Relations Officer, Alberto Adeyemi is still trying to confirm the latest abduction from the Divisional Police Officer of the area where the kidnapping took place.

Seven people are now known to be in the custody of kidnappers in Ekiti State.
