The richest man of Nigeria - Aliko Dangote, huge Arsenal fan, told the media that he still plans to buy Arsenal F.C. English Premier League soccer team even after he was rebuffed by its owners in 2010.

Dangote is the most wealthy man not only in Nigeria, but on the African continent. Recent estimates put his worth at around $15billion, making him the 67th richest person in the worth according to Forbes. He made his fortune in cement, sugar and flour. More recently, he gave around $1m to help stop the spread of the Ebola virus which hit West Africa last year.

Billionaire said that he still hopes to buy Arsenal "one day, at the right place". He said that he hope to buy it not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist.

A successful bid would make Dangote the first African owner of an English premier league club.

Currently, Arsenal are owned by American businessman Stan Kroenke, he holds 67 percent stake.

Dangote is an Arsenal fan but has publically stated that Arsene Wenger “needs to change his style a bit,” claiming the team "needs new direction”.

Arsenal has one of the highest incomes and largest fanbases in the world. Over the last decade London rivals Chelsea have won the English league four times as well as the European Champions League and several other trophies. Arsenal Holdings Plc., the owner, trades on the ICAP Securities & Derivatives Exchange, or ISDX, and is valued at 988 million pounds ($1.49 billion).
