one of the issues that have generated debate and given the world much concern is the developing countries' chronic debt situation. beginning from the late1950s and the early 1960s when newly independent countries started emerging from colonial rule, the loans and facilities they took particularly to accelerate economic development have dramatically given birth to huge unsustainable debts that have threatened their survival, even their existense, as well as the world's politico-economic stability. somehow, we have taken for granted so much that is critical about this issue of debt, without asking ourselves why the World Bank, the IMF and the Paris Club should be interested in seeing to our economic recovery. why are they so keen to help us and everyone else in this particular way? does it really work? to what effect and to whose benefit? wat do you think people?

I dont believe in it, we are paying dearly for it, one of the conditions is that they must adhered strictly to world bank, IMF and Paris club economic guidelines, are these guidelines good for Nigerians? when in their own country they have social security programme for their people who are not employed here they will say the civil servants are 2 much, they should be sacked, really in whose benefit is debt relief?

There is good debt and bad debt. Good debt is debt you can afford and bad debt is debt you can’t afford. That’s all there is to it. If you can afford your mortgage, car payment and RV payments, then it is alright. If you can’t, then it isn’t good debt.
