Section 185 (2) of the 1999 constitution. "The Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office shall be administered by the Chief Judge of the State or Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the State, if any or President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the State, if any, or the person for the time being respectively appointed to exercise the functions of any of those offices in any State. So you see, the AGF or NJC may be right in appointing the CJ of Bayelsa State to swear in the Governor of Rivers State but my take on this is if the AGF reserve such right to appoint or such right is exclusively meant for the CJN or the NJC to appoint as spelt out in the Constitution which happens to be silent on who has the right to appoint a person for the time being to exercise the function

Pls our legal gurus, clear me on this. Who has the power to appoint the person for the swearing in since the AGF only REQUESTED not DIRECTED the Bayelsa CJ to carry out the process. Pls I need clarification.

the constitution is clear on who becomes the chief judge and his duties.
in this case the AG is in order to Apply for the services Of a SUBSTANTIAL CHIEF JUDGE OF ANY STATE IF THE CONSTITUTION ALLOWS IT (but only for the purpose of swearing in a gov and not to take over the powers of jurisprudence)
