Learned colleagues and fellow nairalanders,

is it permitted in the nigerian constitution for the national assembly to handle civil cases and pronounce judgement at the end- considering these cases
- award of 1.5 billion dollar fine to shell
- banning of el rufai from holding public office
-ordering borishade to pay 5 billion naira (inspite of the fact that the case is still pending in court)
etc etc
and the disheartening part of this is the way the arrive at this decision, which is illogical. people who dont know the laws passing jusgement, i tire ooo

at the rate they are going, we are soon going to have the headline "national assembly awards death sentence to Bleep"

is this okay in our constitution to do this

What do you expect from a bunch of dolts? I'm sure over 50% of those imbeciles in the national assembly cannot read and/or write!

You're right, if those goons could read and digest what they've read (a tall order for thieves who only think of how much they can steal), they'll understand the limits of the assembly, however, most of them cannot read.

Simply grandstanding. Mix of ignorance and often calculated schemes to get their share of the ongoing looting of public funds. Most of them do not know what their job entails and most Nigerians do not even have a clue. I forget, they weren't even elected.
