My visa grant journey

Submitted application at TLS abuja 15/06/16

Lodged in Pretoria 22/06/16

Monday 20/07/16 Day of orientation got mail from dibp that I'm AL3 and would take 3months when actually I was svp. Sameday got in touch with school and was told dibp has final say and that they can only give me an extension letter until 8 August if by then I don't get Grant I'll defer to Feb intake

22/07/16 sent extension letter and no reply, so I assumed I'll defer

25/07/16. My very own God sent Angel frm nairaland Toche1 called in and ask me to call dibp and insist it's svp and stop mailing, that after the call I'll call to inform him of my grant

26/07/16 called Pretoria and was redirected to supervisor for student applications, was told it was a mix up and that my extension letter is received and noted and that my application will be looked into that week..... Week ended no news #sad

02/08/16 Grant showed up 10:36 am

My Nairaland family it was only God that did what no man could have done!!!

why do we still need agents for admissions seeing that schools give you the option of applying directly to them or using agents ?

This proof of funds thing is pretty straightforward nawww.....There are two options..Annual income option::The annual income option requires a student to provide evidence of personal annual income of at least AUD 60,000. For students accompanied by family members, the requirement is at least AUD 70,000. The income demonstrated must be the personal income of your spouse (who is not coming with you) or parents. Where both of your parents are working, their combined income can be considered for this requirement. Evidence must be in the form of official government documents such as tax assessments. Evidence in the form of bank statements or information directly from an employer is not acceptable.

2nd Option::Living costs

From 1 July 2016, the 12 month living cost is:

student or guardian - AUD 19,830
partner or spouse - AUD 6,940
child - AUD 2,970....

What this means is that you choose one of the options, not both...If you cant use option 1..you use option 2.....

People still harbour the fear of option 1 while 2 to me, seems easier and straightforward.

Bro apply visa yourself, I did get admission with an agent but I applied visa on my own and even my agent was asking me for information on how I did it because I found out she knows less about visa, I'm heading to Tafe.... Pm I'll be glad to help with advise

Good morning house. I hope everyone had a wonderful night. Please I have been an ardent follower but I think i might need direct informations at this point. So do help a brother out.
Bottom line is, I was personally trying to process travelling to Aussie alone to study and eventually get PR through Msc only to be advised that upon completion, I might not get a job with that Msc especially if it is not on the Sol list. Then something popped up, I was advised to go for Bsc degree instead as it guarantees job after completion and also PR if the course is on SOL list of course. But because I am primarily a political science graduate I feel I have lesser attractive courses for Bsc on SOL list, I'm now consedring going to the registry with my fiancée, sponsor her instead and with the support of her family to study Nursing at Bsc level, while I go with her majorly to work my ass off and at the end we can both get PR once she gets qualified at the end of her studies, then I can go ahead with an advance diploma even before she's done in courses that can give me access to jobs as well. My question is, what are the pros and cons of my plan? What are the cost I'm looking at? Because I have been told there are schools that do not require the 60k thingy instead straight cash payment of first semester fees of around 16k. Please help a brother.
