We really want change in our country and so we ve voted for that person we think is capable of bringing change.
At his Inaugural speech yesterday,he made mention of many things that will be put in place like fighting corruption, providing employment and so many other things but most people didn't notice the man never emphasize on education policy and how he want to make our education stands out globally.
Education is one of the key factor in our country but he didn't made mention of anything similar to that. We want change but don't want growth in the education standard of the country.

Let's fold our hands, watch and see where he is leading us to.

Is corruption the only problem in this country? And yes, if it is, how will Bihari fight it when likes of Tinubu, Amaechi, Umana Okon Umana, Timipre Sylva, etc are there?

The primary flaw in your statement is that you said "you voted for the person that is capable of bringing change".
If you're truly a youth and you made that comment, then I'm sorry for you.

@Op contrary to your claim, he identified education as a long term objective of his administration and thought that was very realistic because the past government only invested on buildings but not in qualitative education. Truth is, for now, if you wanna get good education, you go to a private school, that's what the system turned us into, and you many never expect miracle without taking care of these:

1. Payment and allowances of teachers must be commensurate with what is obtainable by their counterparts in other government agencies

2. Quality of recruitment. Recently, the recruitment in the public sector has failed to meet standards required to have good output from students. Teachers are hired Anyhow through the backdoor unlike before when proper tests and interviews were conducted

3. Training and skills development. Teachers must be trained with standard facilities and must be required to attain certain educational requirements before promotion

4. Examination Fraud. It's like a culture today that students are helped to pass exams whether they know the stuff or not, exam papers get leaked way before exams are written etc, bribery and corruption plays a key role in this and in order to fight this, you must invest in the system and use technology to fight the trend.

There are many reforms needed and these will take time, it won't happen overnight, all we need is a dedicated team of people who are committed, independent minded, know how these systems have been improved upon in developed countries, and get the proper funding to implement the proposal.

My suggestion is: the education system needs someone like JEGA, the outgoing INEC Chairman. He has all it takes, he came from an academic background, he implemented serious technology advancements and improvements at Bayero University where he was Vice Chancellor before appointment to INEC etc. he needs to be given a mandate, do an extensive research of the standards being operated abroad, and champion a team that will deal with this completely and effectively within an 8 year period, assuming funding is provided within the same period.

This is what we need IMO!

LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT His excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCON). As a matter fact, you being addressed with this noble title again is indeed a rare opportunity and is a thing that calls for a personal reflection over your past years. This should remind you of your past efforts followed by failures and in fact it is capable of making you ponder over the circumstance that led to your victory in this very general election. It bothers my mind, each time I remember that Nigerians who had earlier refused to give you their support in the previous three general elections, could turned out in such a significant numbers to vote you in as their newly elected president after twelve years of continual trial and failure.
