What is so shocking about it, I don't doubt that she would have in these last few months been the recipient of so many gifts she would be overwhelmed and may not be able to refuse many gifts, this watch could very much be a gift.
She also happens to own a fledgling and successful beauty therapy company, 34,000 is not extravagant for a middle-upper class person, it is but a drop in the ocean of wealth.

I personally know more than a fair few people who own original > 10,000 euro Rolex and Cartier watches they are not celebrities or millionaires , they liked one saved for it over a period and treasure it.

This is like me accusing my neighbor who is a senior Garda of being corrupt because he choose to buy himself a Porsche 997 a while ago. Dude saved up and rewarded himself

My aunt ain't a millionaire she owns over 10,000 euro worth of watches. I own at least two above 800 euro watches as a grad engineer , and when I start earning more i'll prob buy a Rolly
