Have u asked yourself what the population is in Burkina Faso and Mali? Is it not considerate to factor that into why a country should be free from crime and social vices? We should rather seek ways to positively improve improve security issues in Nigeria especially when the Nation is gradually learning how to creep again. We are in such a hurry and lay blame and treat the nation and everyone with such sarcasm and disdain. It took several years for South Africa to be where they are today, they went through pains and sufferring.  The same can be said of Britain, America, China etc...  The truth that you need to ask yourself is 'how am I contributing to the sanity of our community'? Have many secret cult memebers do you know of and have not told the authority, how many armed robbers do you know of and yet eat from their spoils? In countries like Britain, everyone is just the same as the police.in my country Nigeria, it is must never be because the person belongs to the same tribe, community or family with you...

Galala leave all this people to think what they want, I don't care if you associate with crooks or not as a Nigerian, I deal with this issues in the professional world every day. My father is a prominent Nigeria and hold one of the key sensitive position in Nigeria today, we talk just about everything, and take it how you like it. A Thief will never admit he is a thief, to him he is just trying to survive. and you are not a criminal until you are caught. Not all Nigerians are criminals But go to the bank, or any government building in Nigeria for a simple service. No one will look at you if you are not greasing palm. as soon as you offer some monetary benefit, they will call you OGA MAKE I HELP you. I had an Immigration officer at the airport told me once my passport is fake, but after I told him who my father was, He shook his head in disbelieve and said he was only joking, if public official can exhibit this kind of attitude what makes you think Nigerians are not bad, True I LOVE MY COUNTRY AND I WILL DIE A NIGERIA. I just hope people will change and stop giving us the hard working class a bad name is all i am saying.

Please neither myself nor any other person in this forum has insuanted that there are no problems great challenges in that country.  I tell you, I lament deeply in my heart when I go out of the country and see where we should have been.  But to speak in such a way such that when  a foreigner who listens to you will think that every Nigerian he/she meets in the street wants bribe is utter nonsense. If you are in doubt of what i just said, go oover your posts carefully and listen to the tone of your posts.  Not every Nigerian takes bribe, not every Nigerian asks for one and not every Nigerian will think of any corrupt act of corrupt tendencies.  I am still aware of many people who goes back to pay a bus conductors when that conductor fails/forgets to ask for transport fare. I have walked into Nigerian banks for various reasons and did not get to pay any one. I am sure those who want to beat the queue bribe their way to get in front of other people. If you ever did that, then you are the one (not Nigerians) who is corrupt. When we leave Nigeria, we suddenly become sane  to obey traffic laws and not give/take bribes. So it is us to change, but we prefer to flout the rules when we are in our own country and come around to say that Nigerians are corrupt...that is not nice.

I am speaking from experience, I can give you more than five occasions that we have been victimized in Nigeria, I have people in the state that I look up to that promised never to go back to Nigeria because of the way they were treated while visiting home. Prime example, A good friend of mine playing in the NFL Kalu, Ndukwe was shot last summer when he came home cause he refused to give in to extortion. Go back and read my script, I go to Nigeria frequently, and I love My country. I've said it over and over again, not all Nigerians are bad, quit taking my words out of context.

Only 50 years ago, you would have to stand up for a white man to seat in a bus in America, but that is the same place you are running to now. Well, in those days, the Americans (blacks) stood up for their country and defended it, they did not leave their country and vow never to return!

Re: Nigerians Are the Most Corrupt People In the World? by Jakumo(m): 9:30am On Oct 26, 2005
Jojo, you have got to be joking.   Are you seriously expecting to be able to phone Lagos Airport for information ?  Might I suggest that you will stand a better chance of communicating with Lagos Airport if you start a fire and attempt to send smoke signals, or alternatively acquire a talking drum and try some serious Morse Code drumming late at night when ambient noise levels are low.  Please keep me posted.  I am anxious to know which mode of communication works for you.

Re: Nigerians Are the Most Corrupt People In the World? by Jakumo(m): 4:03pm On Oct 26, 2005
Apologies for my humour, Jojo. I was only trying to say that there has never been a general information phone number at Lagos airport to the best of my knowledge and for as long as I can remember. On the internet you may be able to get contact details regarding the Lagos office of the airline about whose flights you seek information.

These are some of the formats that the FBI is aware of among American con artists:

Jury selection Fraud
Telemarketing fraud
Identity Fraud
Health Insurance Fraud
Medicare Fraud
Travelling Salesmen
Penis Enlargement Frauds
View Webcam
Stocks/Shares Scam
Letter of Credit Fraud
Home Delivery Fraud
Primary Bank Note
Ponzi Scheme
Pyramid Scheme
Gadget Inventors Scam
College Scholarship Scam
Credit Card Fraud
Investment Fraud
Business Fraud
Counterfeit Prescription Drugs
Funeral and Cemetery Fraud
Fraudulent Anti-Aging Products
Franchise Fraud
Internet Auction Fraud
Visa Lottery Fraud
Poetry Competition Scam.
Non-Delivery of Merchandise
Casino Cheats
Mortgage Fraud.

The one I found the most amazing and most cruel is the alibi scam. If any of your relatives is in jail or on trial and is still pleading innocent, the con artiste will come to you and claim that he is a witness to the fact that your relative didn't commit the crime,

Then not forgetting corruption in the form of laundering shareholders' funds in $billions viz worldcom, enron, tyco, parmalat.

Then talk of Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and the White House Cabal.

US orders fifteen made in America Boeing C-17 air planes for the military at $3.3billion each. Meanwhile other countries buy it at $2.5billion.

Nigeria, una still dey learn. How many yahoo format dey? Lottery, Next of Kin, Money Order, Disaster Charity Fraud, Romance Scams, War Casualty, what else?

Have you guys looked at your Bulk Mail in recent times? All those mails you see there, what do you think they are.

Una never even know Steve Comisar wey dey prison dey serve sentence for Fraud, still throw format from Prison and catch Maga. Abeg Nigeria, una still be "Omomo" for corruption.

Una no know the level of corruption wey the italian, russian and chinese Mafia dey contribute, drug dealing, money laundering even up to the entertainment industry. Please, Nigeria is still a foetus where Baba like America and Phillipines (where $3billion of GDP annually is from online scams) dey. We still be sperm.

But Nigeria dey try small, small. Just while I was typing this document, one yahoo boy was trying to scam me, and just as Jojo is in this forum posting, her "man" has already "romance-scammed her.
