Dogara was the candidate of the northern establishment, particularly Kano/Katsina lawmakers who were his core supporters. If you noticed, they are the ones that lunged to the front and goaded him into accepting his nomination, and basically piloted the whole process.

What you don't realize is that the nPDP lawmakers that defected are still PDP (Kwankwaso, Dino melaye et al.) and with the backing of Atiku and Saraki, are on a mission to sieze the PDP back from the SS/SE which will be like taking candy from a baby, the North birthed the PDP and is about to take it back, the party was not joking when it said it had zoned its 2019 ticket to the North, stop deceiving your SE fans. My advice for the SE is to be prepared to present a credible candidate for the position of the Vice President in 2019 or even the President (depending on some factors) under the PDP's platform to dislodge the APC and their cabals from Aso Rock as the cracks within the APC just got started. The PDP in 2019 cannot afford not to have a credible SEner in its ticket.
