VickyRotex: when hardship strike you for Bonny eeh you go know. Relocate to Bonny Island at your own peril. |
Re: A City In Nigeria With 24/7 Electricity Supply! by FOREXMARTS: 9:21pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
Raxxye:Almost relocated there last year and I don't regret changing my mind. Two major issues with bonny island is water and cultism. They don't have water, it's being routinely supplied but worst of all is cultism, an everyday lifestyle, @op bonny island ain't the only place with that much power supply, you forgot omoku but they all have the same thing in common, crime rate and cultism at it's peak. Also the waterways between ph and bonny is a den of robbers and pirates from the creeks. I ain't exaggerating. You can only really enjoy bonny if you are inside nlng and travel with nlng boats that have military escorts. |

themodernman:There are hospitals of course. The whites and other LNG workers live in the NLNG residential area(someone posted an aerial photograph of the place in this thread). If they have need to travel to Port Harcourt, NLNG operated boats convey them there. They also make use of choppers! |

FOREXMARTS:You made a valid point regarding water. It's a bit of a challenge (though it's not too bad), but there's an ongoing multi-billion naira water project, which when completed will see an end to that. In general though, I still prefer the situation bc water can be fetched, stored and used later, unlike light! As for cultism, I have never had any bad experience in the two years I've been here. I have never been harassed even when i sometimes have to walk home at very late hours. Again, cultism is a general problem in the south-south region and not peculiar to Bonny! |

I lived on Bonny Island for about four years. Yes, there is regular power supply since 2003, but the town outside the Nigeria LNG RAs still looks as underdeveloped as Ajegunle in Lagos. |

liberty300:"ran" by white men? Ran in what sence? That "the" white men are local govt chairmen or in the cabinet of the king or secretary to the govt. Please tell me what position of influence does these white men hold in Bonny town other than work at the industrial rea for which they were brought and go home back to their residential area. then leave the country after completion of their job. why do you like disgracing your family by talking rubbish and making the whole world know that formal education wasnt provided for you 1 Like 1 Share |

We used to have 24 hours uninterrupted power supply here in Kainji, Niger State. Until recently when our transformers start malfunctioning. As it is, when there is no case of minor fault or fallen electric poles, we still have up to 22 hours power supply or more. |

Viciyus: You must be a goat! Do you know how many gas plants there are in Nigeria? 22 (Twenty-two)!!! 7 of them are fully operational, 8 are partially operational while most of the rest are under construction. So if it necessarily follows that where there is a gas plant there would be 24/7 electricity, do you have any idea the number of towns or villages around them in Nigeria that would boast of electricity for at least 18 hours of the day. I just can't imagine the magnitude of your foolishness; rushing into hasty conclusions. No wonder you type in capital letter. |

wewe1: Bros,Its nt a Rocket science. This is nt about believe. Its about the will to do it. Our Leaders gives themselves to much problem to deal with. The way forward is create the power needs that can serve every village, town,City and State. No need of all this National Grid hulla balloo. Same can also be done in Refinaries establishment(Moduler Rifeneries) |

Mustay:More light about Gauta, Keffi, Nassarawa State or constant electricity? Lols . . . Anyways, I heard the then governor of this state has a farm at the interior part of the village. The high tension cable passed thru this town to the farm. Even Keffi as a town doesn't enjoy this. . . . Well, blame it on our greedy politicians whose interests are in their pot belly 1 Like |
