BE PHENOMENAL OR BE
FORGOTTEN!
More than a century ago, a man
read the morning newspaper
and surprisingly saw his name in
the obituary column. His brother
had died at that period and the
press mistakenly put his name
instead. He was so amazed and
sad. Am I here or there, he
wondered? After Blake minutes,
he regained his composure and
had a second thought wanting
to find out what was said about
him.
The obituary read, "Dynamite
King Dies..the one who became
extremely rich by inventing a
faster means to kill men is gone
himself... Merchant of death is
dead". This man was actually the
inventor of dynamite and when
he read the words "merchant of
death", he felt bad and asked
himself, "Is this how I am going
to be remembered? Oh No!"
He then decided that he was
going to correct his reputation
and leave a good legacy. He
didn't want to be remembered
negatively. From that day on, he
started working toward Peace.
His name is Alfred Nobel and he
is remembered today by the
great Nobel Prize.
Before he died,he had left most
of his wealth in trust, in order to
fund the awards. Just as Alfred
Nobel got in touch with his
feelings and redefined his values,
we should step back and do the
same. What is your legacy? How
would you like to be
remembered? Will you be spoken
well of? Will you be remembered
with love and respect? Will you
even be missed? Ask yourself, tell
yourself the truth and start
working on leaving a good
legacy.
Just like a wise man once
said...We are not destined to live
forever but we can create
something that will. Leave a
legacy.
