President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) should please urgently end this certificate discrimination between HND & B.Sc. holders in Federal Ministry of Interior (Prisons, Immigration, Civil Defence) and others in order to increase productivity in fight against insecurity and insurgents . This discrimination is dangerious, unethical and unconstitutional. There is a looming bloody clash between these two cadres at fields of operation due to live arms/ammunition they bear and that is why every well meaning Nigerian should help towards scrapping out this discrimination because you or your family could be victim directly or indirectly. Few of the discriminations are; • HND (Inspectorate Cadre), while B.Sc. (Superintendent Cadre). • Entry Level for HND is G/L 7, while a fellow Graduate with B.Sc. is G/L 8. • Terminal Point for HND is G/L 13, while B.Sc. is to the highest G/L. • HND or inspectorate cadre ranks are confusing, while superintendent ranks are normal ranks/recognized ranks in military/paramilitary agencies. • B.Sc Holder do not pay complement to his superior officer with HND certificate. • HND graduates are denied one Grade Level during conversation. • Above all, HND holder in this Ministry of Interior are regarded and treated as artisans with WASC or Trade Test qualifications. It is shameful that staff of Ministry of Interior and others as affected no longer concentrate on their duties or bring ideas that could help the job, rather they focuse on getting more certificates by hook or by crook in order to be converted to superintendent cadre. It is obvious to state that other well recognised security agencies like; Nigeria Military, DSS, Nigerian Police, etc do not discriminate in ranking between HND & B.Sc. Holders. Merge Ministry of Interior with Police to stop this nonsense if they persists in the discrimination. |

this is not right ,there is a need to review and overhaul our internal security structure not just banning camoflages. |

This is getting out of hand, Nigerians must condemn this. HND is more difficult to obtain than BSC. the scheme of service was written by BSC holders for themselves only. It is fraudulent and unacceptable. 1 Like |

What are they afraid of. they know HND holders are better than them. if a level playing ground is created for both graduates, they cant compete with us. they decided to gang up and get the national assembly to pass the COREN bill into law to make us their subordinate. Promotion between HND and BSC holders should be based on aptitute test. I have suggested it to them but BSC holders are afraid of aptitute test because they know a lot of them will not pass. If they think they are more inteligent, they should come for aptitute test. most BSC holders fail oil company's aptitute test that is why HND holders are more in the oil companies. they hide their mental laziness under the civil service that is why the civil service is not productive. 2 Likes |

Most HND holders have 9 credits in one sitting while some BSC holders combine 2 or 3 results to get five credit. We use same text books. The difference is that we are baiase towards practical and application of scientific and engineering principles to solve our problems and meet our needs. the university on the other hand study theory without knowing how to apply such theories to solve our problems. the two groups must work together before production can take place. there will be no technological growth in this country if technology based education is not encouraged. |

It is a lie. The promotion exam you refer to is not an exam. they give you the text book to use in the hall. You just open the book to copy the answer. If you know what aptitute test mean, you wont talk like this. They are not sound accademicaly, they should face the exam with us. |

We will not run away from exam, if we fail, we will accept our fate but if more university graduates fail, they should accept it. We are aware that most of them fail oil company's aptitute test. that is why you have most HND holders in the oil companies. |

This disparity should be abolish once and for all.u don't expect a robust productivity's when there are in fighting between co workers. If government is sincere enough, they knew there are little or no different btw the two certificate. |
