E marking has not fully taken shape nationwide. I guess it is a pilot test at the moment. Dunno about the payment for it

Also To facilitate their work, Da-Costa said the examiners involved in the scheme have been provided with modems and internet connection to mark in their comfort of their homes. He said this convenience improves their ability to mark more scripts and be paid accordingly.

“If you are able to mark 4,000 scripts at N18 per script, you know what you can get. In the history of marking scripts, we have not had someone earn up to N100,000 before. But it happened last year,” he said.

Chief examiner for Biology, Mr. Johnson Olufemi Asa, who teaches at Phemark Comprehensive College, Egbeda, said the initiative is faster and more accurate.

He said: “It is different from the manual marking; it is faster and more accurate. If an examiner makes one or two mistakes it stops him/her from marking. But when it was manual, if an examiner makes mistake the best we could do is to at least look at 10 per cent of all the script the examiner has marked and then correct them. But this system will stop an examiner immediately it detects error.”

WEST African Examinations Council (WAEC) has concluded plans to begin the conduct of main coordination and marking of scripts for the May/June 2015[color=#006600][/color] West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) across the country.

The exercise is slated to begin on 19th and end on 30th June, 2015.

I marked Waec and Neco scripts last year as a corper I gatecrashed then I wish I can also participate in this year's marking but I dunno how I'm going to combine it with my job cos I get home late after work(Lagos Traffic things). My friends said they are interested in marking someone should please list the Lagos marking centres here the only ones I know of for now from the invites so far is Ilupeju and Agege.
Last year I marked 325 Waec scripts and I was paid #12,500 after two weeks, Neco paid me #15k for 347 scripts after 1 week small money you may think but when you get alert, you go shout Godwin

All you need to do is to get to any centre close to you with your certificate or statement of result, write your name on the gate crashers list you may be lucky to get a script. You have to signify your interest in a subject related to your field. For instance, a graduate of English cannot mark Biology scripts.

HND, OND and NCE are not allowed to mark they can only apply for checkers...only BSc graduates are allowed to mark.

Depends on how strong you are yes you can go home with your script I marked all mine @home I marked 150 in a day and the days I was busy, I marked 30_50 in a day so it depends but you have to be very fast in marking....its very risky too if you misplace 1script, na police case o

And, how come you were paid after one week? It should be three days...max!

For those of you asking a million questions, all you need do is just to go to WAEC offices in your locality and ask. You will surely get the venues for all the co-ordination centres there.

I have received my notification inviting me for WAEC marking on 19 June 2015.
While WAEC marking is not an employment opportunity, and cannot even be quoted in the CV as a viable working experience, the advantages of coordination and marking can be seen below

1. It puts some coins in the pocket. In about 5 days of using ur leisure to mark, you are guaranteed at least N10,000. Can serve some purposes

2. The informative content of the coordination is helpful for teachers. Helps you know the best way to prepare students for the examination. It also enriches the teacher's research and lesson notes

Please, invited or not, if you live near the state capital, check the marking venues used for coordination. Gate-crash (if not invited) and you may be fortunate to get a pack.

Check your area. Where is the marking venue? In Owerri, for example, there are two venues. Check the one where your subject area is being marked. Then go with your credentials. It is quite simple
