Its depend on so many factors...pot belly is mostly caused by accumulated fats as a result of unhealthy lifesyles like eating late, a huge chunk of junks, xcesive alcohol etc.........jst exercise more and you wil be lyk me

But I know a lot of people who drink and still keep flat tummy.
There is this guy that we call Bishop of St Bottles cathedral, he drinks like fish yet his abs is as flat as slate !
And I know some dudes who never tasted a bottle of beer yet their tummy is like someone at 28wks gestation.
Having big or flat tummy, I think there is interplay between environment factors such as life style, eating habits and a genetic component ie it runs in some people with genetic predisposition.

The excess calories in beer causes it. Excess sugar is stored in the body as fat, and beer has alot of it.

As people grow older their metabolism slows down. Meaning it does breakdown fat as it used to in their 20's.
Another factor is genetics.
Another one is lack of exercise to compensate for the slowing down metabolism.
Another one is poor choice of food.
Stress levels as well.

did you ask ur lecturer what type of alcohol? No...When we talk about alcohol causing pot bellied we are not refering to ogogoro,whisky,hennesy e.t.c here. we are talking about Alcoholic beverage like Beer..they contain starch,since most of dem are made from cereals.When u don't exercise, ur liver converts this starch into glycogen,lactose and stores dem in areas dat contains muscle
