Thank God u understand, thats the highest a working individual can rise to in a state public service echelon in Nigeria and as u and i knows, in Nigeria no state will ever want a non-indigene to hold that position especially if the concerned individual is not a member of the majority tribe in the state, from the name of the appointed woman, she's either Ibira or Yoruba which will be a very tough thing to achieve in an Hausa speaking North, so for el-Rufai to have braced up to appoint her, lets appreciate what he did. Its high time we de-tribalize big time in Nigeria for us to move forward collectively. She has been in the state civil service for decades. She becomes the most senior perm sec after the retirement of the former HOS.
She is happily married to a Mr Onazi from benue state.

We are already insulting each other as usual while the story is incomplete!. The first thing is, if the appointee is a non-indigene, which State is she from? Someone has clarified that she is an indigene but married to someone from Benue State so is she no longer a Kaduna indigene? This is not a favour to "non-indigenes" and the press or anybody should seek political capital from it. She rose through the ranks in Kaduna public service and had reached the peak as a Permanent Secretary so she must have been in the service there for a while. Besides, it is said that she is the most senior Permanent Secretary and well-deserving of the position. Congrats to her and kudos to El-Rufai for acknowledging her personal merit and competence even though she isn’t from his side of Kaduna. That has been part of the problem of that State –ethno-religious discrimination and suspicion. Next is for him to quickly address the multi-faceted challenges of that State especially social injustice and ethno-religious imbalance which has been the root of crisis in that State.

It has been confirmed and clarified over and over that this woman is a full blood, natural born and bonafide indigene of Kaduna State so saying she isnt because she's married to someone from another State is either politicising the issue or insulting her heritage. She merits her appointment.
