Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has announced the appointment of Mrs Alisabatu Dada-Onazi as the new Head of Service of the state, pushing further for a united Nigeria. El-Rufai made the announcement on Sunday at a civic reception organised in honour of his Deputy, Mr Barnabas Bala-Bantex, in Kafanchan. NAN reports that before her appointment, the new head of service was the Permanent Secretary in the state’s Ministry for Culture and Tourism. He shud nt be celebrating neither does this piece of information count. He shud start delivering on his promises. |

dayo23: The woman is actually a Kaduna indigine but married out. She had been in the state civil service. Again, the most senior permanent secretary always emerge as Head of Service. Its not a political appointment. |

Orunto:It has been confirmed and clarified over and over that this woman is a full blood, natural born and bonafide indigene of Kaduna State so saying she isnt because she's married to someone from another State is either politicising the issue or insulting her heritage. She can contest in her husband's state and win election. Double democracy dividend. El-Rufai found her out. He has a prerogative to reject her on any ground but decided to accommodate her special qualities and determined to use them. Was Yakowa's wife not there when they rigged in Yero? This is a credit to El-Rufai for using merit to choose his assistants. |

dayo23: What do you expect from a non-indegine Elrufai. He is not an indegine of Kaduna state and does not know the value of indebineship in Nigerian context. These appointments however should not be blown out of proportion if the people involved are Long term residents of Kaduna state. For example, the reported new head of service was a permanent secretary in the state civil service. Elrufai did not give her the employment in the service of the state. She grew through the ranks in the service. Thee are many of them from other states working g and getting to high ranks in Kaduna state. Remember Kaduna state used to have the appellation of Liberal state, before some people decided to change it to center of learning, which is just ironical bacause even though Kaduna state used to be the state with the most number of Learning institutions in Nigeria, the inhabitants, especially the so-called indegines are not learning. That is why the issue of appointing a non indegine in the state is an issue. Also remember that in 1990-2003 an Igbo man, Mazi Iyke Madu represented Kaduna south s constituency at the Kaduna state House of assembly as elected member on the platform of Alliance for Democracy AD. As political events unfold we shall see how Elrufai will govern the state. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kitsune:El Rufai has done well no doubt but the same news media were there when Orji Uzo Kalu appoint non-indegines into his cabinet. The same news media were there when Gabriel Suswam did and even Donald Duke. Why didn't they make those ones headlines too? The other day, it was about El-Rufai taking his child to a hospital in Nigeria. The same news media were there when Sullivan Chime did same in 2010 and it was no news. Barcanista has a point. I don't see any reason he should be crucified. He has shown that he has been following events in Nigeria closely. |
