Former Governor of Kano State and Senatorrepresenting Kano Central, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, yesterday, warned the Senate President, Bukola Sarki, against using his ambition to destroy the party they laboured to build and betray the confidence which Nigerians reposed in them by voting them for change.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, the former
Defence Minister regretted that the Senate President had used his ambition to destroy party discipline and should be punished for it.

According to the APC chieftain, Saraki’s ambition has given the defeated PDP an opportunity to reap where they did not sow because they were rejected in the polls by Nigerians.

‘I’m most qualified’ Declaring that he (Kwankwanso) was very qualified to contest the Senate Presidency because he was the only governor that gave President Buhari 1.9 million votes, which is 100 percent in Kano state and the only Senator that gave the party 750,000 from his senatorial district, he noted that since the President came from his zone, they agreed to give the seat to another zone which was middle belt, but Saraki’s ambition disrupted the process.

The Senator representing Kano Central pointed out
that “from the day President Buhari’s victory was announced, things have started changing in the country. The power situation is improving, shares in
the market are going up, while the exchange rate is
stabilising.”

Kwankwaso said things would have been put right by the party immediately after the official announcement of the results, but the leadership
delayed and this was what Saraki capitalised on to do what he did.

On whether President Buhari actually summoned the meeting of all elected National Assembly members on the platform of APC on the day of the election of Senate President, Kwankwaso said that it was on the morning of that day that he received a text message, that President Buhari will address them at the International Conference Centre by 10 am.

He added that the message did not emanate from the President, but that the person did not indicate his name.

Senator Kwankwaso said when Saraki stated his
ambition, he advised him not to go too far with it
because as far as they were concerned, PDP was
dead, and now he has given them hope.

On the way forward, he said if he were the party
chairman, he would personally write to each APC
Senators and House of Representative member to
express his displeasure over the unfortunate
incident.

He added that PDP have their own agenda to tackle
APC and, at the end of the day, irritate the President
and put hurdles before him.

Saraki's action shows a man with an an inordinate ambition and extremely desperate to trade anything for the realisation of that ambition, including his soul. How can you enter into alliance with the opposition in order to defeat your party's preference? This man is abundantly dangerous and a big threat to a stable democracy.
Surely with a prominent Member like Saraki, APC does not need any other opposition party to contend with!

I thought i read somewhere that he was among the 8 APC Senators that were present when Saraki was elected Senate President undecided

If the Senators were truly 8, then I can authoritatively tell you their names. Kwankwanso wasn't among them.

Lemme list them for you:

1. Bukola Saraki himself (Kwara Central).

2. Shaaba Lafiagi (Kwara North).

3. Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara South).

4. Dino Melaye (Kogi West).

5. Ali Ndume (Borno South).

6. Danjumoh Goje (Gombe Central).

7. Tayo Alasoadura (Ondo Central).

8. Ahmed Rufai Sani Yerima (Zamfara West).

Saraki will definitely pay dearly for his inordinate affection for POWER against the lay down rules of his Party, yes, I am with Kwankwanso on this one 100% that Saraki deserves to be severely punished. This I know is coming soon

But kwankwanso was in saraki's camp the last time I checked.
Kwankwaso was never in Saraki's camp. On the day of Nass leadership elections, if you had noticed, you would have seen that he came late because he went for the supposed meeting the APC leadership called for. Also, he was among the senators who endorsed Lawan the weekend before the elections.

The fact that most of them both defected from the PDP or were members of the nPDP doesn't mean they believe in the same ideology or they are one. Kwankwaso was present at the mock election that saw in Lawan as APC sole Candidate. He's nursing a Presidential ambition, Saraki is nursing same; so he feels Saraki being a Senate President may outsmart him come 2019 should Buhari decide not to contest. Guess you're getting me!

Am sure I am not mistaken and your hasty conclusion doesn't speak well of you
