NASS Leadership: Again, Tinubu Tears Into Buhari, Atiku by properous22: 7:40am On Jun 16, 2015 |
Tinubu, who is the owner of The Nation newspaper, has been known to use its columnists and editorial staff to air his opinions about national issues. He insinuated that Buhari perhaps encouraged the rebellion that took place in the NASS leadership saga that saw the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Honourable Yakubu Dogara as Speaker, House of Representatives, candidates that were not chosen by the APC. Tinubu also accused Buhari of further encouraging the rebellion in the party, with the statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, which said it “somewhat” served the higher purpose of democracy. “On the meeting the party scheduled, we learned that Buhari’s advance party was at the venue, but he did not come. Why not? Shehu said he was about to come when the fait accompli of Saraki’s victory occurred. Was that not enough reason for the president to express open disavowals of condemnation rather than a tame Channels interview? Tinubu also tore into Atiku, who had openly showed his support for Senator Saraki, even prior to his emergence, accusing him of lacking “moral grace.” He said Atiku was a bitter man, who due to the fact that he lost the APC presidential primaries to Buhari, championed the rebellion in the party. He described Atiku as “a restless man of ambition, but little vision.” “The peripatetic harlot of politics who sways right and left simultaneously, may be smacking his lips, but he is no noble man of this era,... Though I hate taking side but The Nation is correct on the description it gave Atiku. He's a political harlot without conviction - He can swing for anything. 11 Likes |

I'm not really in support of this. We can't continue to wash our dirty linen in public. Our enemies are taking advantage of the desication currently in the party and this is not good. |

Is this what our news sources have become, hourly updates on the Tunibu/NASS Saga ? No wonder the planet earth is in such dire trouble, when a constant diet of such trivial nonsense is presented as news and the real issues are ignored. 1 Like |

Are the editors or columnists of the paper Tinubus's appointed spokespersons?- No. PDP would do anything to deepen the assumption there's a rift between Tinubu and the president. This is nothing but cheap propaganda from a cheap blog presumably bankrolled by PDP- just like breakingtimes and hopefornigeria. 2 Likes |

Realtol: On point!! & what Atiku doesn't understand is that the more he runs around like an headless chicken, the more his non existent political stock is plummeting!!! His body language during the campaigns was almost bordering on the antagonistic & Buhari is no fool, he just isn't much of a Talker & his poker face game is strong so what he is thinking is hard to decipher but he knows he is safer with Tinubu than Atiku. This same Tinubu made Baba allow Aisha become visible despite totally against the practice so that should answer some people. 4 Likes |

The foundation of APC is not strong, yet Its too early for this kind of political power tussle. For me both Atiku and Tinubu are greedy politician, they want to win at all time and at all costs |

omenka: I don't know why a party that scaled all hurdles; merger , primaries, election , is finding it difficult to put it's house in order just because of the NASS election. Thank God we have a more steadfast and focused president, if not, you could have imagined the distraction this subtle crisis could have caused him in the discharge of his constitutional duty as president. |

Tinubu is so bittred but one man cannot control all the structures of a National Party by producing the VP, over 70% of the party NWC, yet want Senate president, DSP, Speaker and Dspeaker. I think his greed will land him in serious political problems. The Hausa-Fulani born to rule Oligarchy will use him and mess him up. He is just an apperentice in National politics though a local champion in regional n local politics 2 Likes |
