one of my friends is now a proud dad

naming is coming up on thursday. he has a name picked out for his son. unfortunately, so does his dad. the back and forth has begun. i seem to remeber having the same gra gra with my dad when we were naming my son. . .

anyway, is there a maximum number of muslim names a child can have? or is it just one.

pls treat as urgent.

Most muslims i know have two names only, One Islamic name and one traditional name depending on where you are from.

For me both of my names are Islamic.

As far as i know a muslim is entitled to one name. However in many cultures the give the muslim name and then have other traditional names like mukinah stated.

It is a common trend when new fathers have issues with their own fathers about names, i suppose they have to talk it through between themselves and let him see reason why he wants the name.

u can give ur child two islamic names.

one from the names of Allah and another from the name of the prophet.
