STOP READING ARABIC QUR'AN IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ITS MEANING

The Almighty Allah has indeed commanded every
Muslim, male, female, old, young, rich or poor to always read the holy Qur'an
as a way to remind them of the right path. As expected during Ramadan,
more and more people adhere to Allah's calling and seek his favor
through variety of worships, one of which is the recitation of the holy
Qur'an.

Allah in the holy Qur'an directed Muslims to always recite the Qur'an,
but the reason for such directive as established in the sacred book is
for all Muslims to be educated in the ways of Allah and be guided to the
right path.

Ignorance in Islam is not an excuse, therefore, Allah desire that every
Muslim read the Qur'an to understand and be reminded of its message.

However, it has been observed that in today's world, most people who do
not even understand the meaning of a single ayah in the Qur'an read a
whole Qur'an especially during Ramadan. This is contrary to the wish of
Allah.

It is my understanding that, Allah do not just want us to be reading the
Qur'an from page one to the last page without understanding what we are
reading, he singular reason for directing us to read is so we could be
educated and understand the meaning of its messages.

Therefore, if you do not understand the meaning of what you are reading
in the Arabic Qur'an which is the original language of the Qur'an,
reading the Qurán over and over again add little or no value to your
deen. Don't waste your time reading what you do not understand, it is
not adding any value to your understanding of the deen of Allah, neither
is it influencing your daily conduct as a Muslim.

Kindly drop that Arabic Qur'an you are reading now until you understand
Arabic. Get a translated Quran, preferably one with tafseer.

Read it, comprehend it,reflect on it and apply its teachings in your
daily lives. I am sure that anytime you read a page in it, you must have
learn a new lesson. That is the desire of Allah. He doesn't want anyone
to be misguided by others, education is mandatory on every Muslim, male
and female Prophet Muhammed said.

If you do this, be rest assured that your reward is guaranteed with
Allah.

As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, may the almighty Allah help us to
acquire his mercies and encounter his forgiveness.

This is misleading and dangerous Advice.

The quran is only the Quran in arabic, the translations are not complete in meaning or intepretation. The quran itself means the recitation. It is meant to be recited.

There are clear benefits to reciting the arabic contained in islamic literature:

Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” (Al tirmidhi)

‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: “Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

There can be little doubt about the benefits of reciting the Quran in Arabic. It is also important to study the meanings and implement in our lives. It is not one or the other.

Thanks to the brother above for explanation. @OP There is need to exercise restraint in jumping into conclusion on sensitive issues like this. You are not right with your assertions. Would you also advise those who do not understand arabic to stop following making salat for same reason? Or would you ask those who understand arabic but do not know the meaning of verses like Yaa Sin, Ali Laam meem, etc to skip or not recite them when they get to such verses?

i disagree with u.islam is not a difficult religion neither does Allah wish to bring hardship upon us.
you could have simply advised that one should immediatedly read the translation as well as tafsir of the verses or surah in which he has read
that way it sticks to mind better and expands our understanding.
