Things are destined to happen, and it must happen whether we want it or not, whether we are prepared or not prepared. This is a known fact but yet we seem to deny it reality. We are constantly brooding over the events of the past days that we forgot that there is nothing we can do to avert its occurrence. We have lost loved ones, partners, and member of our family. We have lost properties and other valuable substances. But what can we do to stop them from happening in the first place?

Brooding over the past and its tragedies is a form of insanity-a form of sickness that defeats our resolve to live for the present moment. It pulls us back from moving forward to our destination in life.

Remember that those who are purposeful have filed away and forgotten occurrences of the past which will never again see the light, since they occupy the dark recesses of the mind. No matter how hard you try to bring the events of the past to life, you will never succeed in doing so. Episodes of the past are done with; sadness cannot retrieve them, melancholy cannot correct them, depression or sadness will never bring the past back to life.

Do not live in the nightmare of the past or under the shade of what you have missed. By dwelling in the past, you will never be able to see the bigger picture of what lies ahead in future. Save yourself from the strange and false image of the near perfection you attained in the past. Do you think sadness will bring back the life of the dead, do you think you can return the sun to its rising place, do you think there is something you can do to resuscitate missed opportunities?

My dear friends, by constantly dwelling on the past and its happenings, you place yourself in a frightful and tragic state of mind. Reading too much meaning into the past is a colossal waste of the present. Past days are gone and done with, and you will never benefit anything from carrying out autopsy on them.

If every man and jinn try jointly to bring back the past, they would certainly fail. Everything on earth moves forward, preparing for a new season. So why should you concentrate on the events of the past at the detriment of the present that need your attention. Move away from the shadow of past successes or failures. See the bigger picture of what lies ahead-move forward and forget the past.

May Allah (God) give us the power to relegate unpleasant events of the past to the state of unconsciousness. May He deliver us from shaitan (devil) that keeps remembering us of the bad past in order to deprive us the goodness of today. May He recompense us for the lost we had witnessed in the past. whoever wants to remain in the past, present or future, should do so.

The BIBLE says EVERY MAN will give account of HIMSELF to God who judges the living and the dead.
