There's nothing like accidental discharge. When using an AK47, u have to open the safety catch with ur right hand(while supporting the rifle with your left hand), cork the rifle, and then pull the trigger before a shot is fired. That's a three step process which can't be done with a single hand. And then, if ur safety catch is closed, the rifle won't fire.
And as per military we don't leave our rifle corked or the safety catch open for any reason. And it's a punishable offence to put ur finger on the trigger when u aren't immediately engaging an adversary. Police are just too lazy and loose!
