See my post above.

Abiola was involved in filtering money to coup plotters across sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria.

How do you think he became so close to IBB?

So you are saying he was used and dumped, The Maradona only sweet-talked him into using ITT to fund those coups. He was never part of the bigger picture. But then again....

Re: Top 5 CIA Assets In Nigeria by tuk2ato(m): 10:36pm On Jun 29, 2015
I think the op is quite right about Abiola, Abiola knew and funded the coup that removed Gen. Buhari, a night before the coup happened he told his employees at Concord Newspaper that they should be ready for a surprise the following day. And he travelled out of the country that night. And there was an incident that happened between Abiola and the Widow of former Liberian President Samuel Doe, the widow came to Nigeria to recover some of her husband's loot with Abiola, all entreaties by IBB to Abiola to release the money to the widow fell on deaf ears. The list won't be complete without mentioning IBB himself. Also the CIA had a hand in the assassination of Murtala Muhammad.
Bluetooth2:

This is why I asked you if a socialist can survived as an agent of the CIA. The same Abiola that wanted the west to pay reparation to Africa ? Tell me another story bro.

With the circumstanes surrounding his death which happned just a week after Abacha's death, I will say Abiola was nothing but a victim of a CIA covert operation to silence a supposed would-be president that is unyielding towards the west.

So why would you still say Abiola was a CIA agent ?

5. Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo

Obasanjo was approached in the battle front in Biafra by a CIA agent operating under the guise of a US Military adviser.

The US was concerned with the Nigerian Forces near total dependence on Russian Fire power during the Biafran war and was concerned that once the war was over Nigeria- Russian Military alliance will be solidly entrenched with the forbidding scenario of a Soviet Naval Base in the Gulf of Guinea.

Preamble

The then President of the United States had a sticky situation concerning Biafra after the US looked the other way in the Israeli-Arab 6 day war.

Here was Kennedy who had a moral conviction to support Biafra but was afraid of sending the wrong message to their strategic energy supplier in Saudi Arabia. The last thing Kennedy wanted was to send a message to the Muslim Arab world that they where supporting a Christian Nation in their quest for independence from a Muslim dominated Country - an eerily similar situation with the Israeli cause.

Kennedy refused to recognize Biafra for the sole purpose of not upsetting the Arab world. Kennedy, however refused to support the Nigerian side with much needed military fire power and the Nigerian govt turned to the Russians.

After Kennedy's assassination, LBJ was keen on rebuilding economic and diplomatic ties with the Nigerian govt.

A CIA agent was sent to establish ties with key commanders of the Nigerian Armed forces who where expected to consolidate power at the end of the conflict in order to secure oil blocs.

Obasanjo was one among several officers who where approached.

Obasanjo eventually became Head of State and his legacies are there for all to see.

Op, stop lying. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, but according to you he was still alive in 1967 to reject Biafra! Which beer parlour did you get this gist from... Don't run to edit your post o. gringringrin

From your response, it's obvious you know nothing about Nigeria's past.
When the NSO, in 1985 gave #dauradullard a security report on the possible plans of his Chief of Army Staff to take over, what did he do ?
He lay back like a puppy and kept waiting for his no. 2, idiagbon to return from hajj or whatever in Saudi Arabia.
A few days later his Army chief became president while he was detained. *✴

Now let's look at Babangida who broke up the NSO because of his fear for the organisation. IBB broke the NSO into SSS, NIA and DIS if I'm not mistaken (all this info is available online). He knew the NSO which was created by Obasanjo was a threat to any person in the country.
Ironically Obasanjo created the NSO after his friend and boss, Murtala Mohammed was gunned down by over zealous army officers like the dullard's present ADC.
Guess who were presidential guards in Murtala's time ?
Yes you guessed right, THE NIGERIAN ARMY LOL

But the dullard of course being quota system general missed class the day all these were taught grin

* Who knows why Buhari divorced his first wife ? grin

The Nigerian Security Organization (NSO) was the state security and intelligence service of the Nigerian government from 1976 to 1985.

Established in 1976 by the Military regime of Olusegun Obasanjo after the failed coup of Buka Suka Dimka --which claimed the life of former Head of State Murtala Mohammed, the NSO was given a mandate of coordinating both domestic and foreign intelligence.
During the time of the military regime, and continuing through the Nigerian Second Republic, the NSO was accused of carrying out systematic and widespread human rights abuses, especially of those seen to be critical of the government. One dissident has called them a "Gestapo in Black". [1]

The NSO became particularly notorious during Buhari's so called War Against Indiscipline crackdown in spring 1984. A series of repressive measures, led by NSO chief Mohammed Lawal Rafindadi, [2] was carried out. Of these, repression against journalists, opposition figures, government officials (the Foreign Ministry saw a purge of those considered "disloyal"wink and the a 25 month imprisonment of musician Fela Ransome-Kuti are especially remembered.[3]

DissolvedEdit

Following the 1985 military coup that brought Ibrahim Babangida to power, the NSO was dissolved into three separate divisions per the provisions made in Decree 19:

State Security Service (SSS) - Responsible for domestic intelligence
Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) - Responsible for Foreign intelligence and counterintelligence operations
Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) - Responsible for military intelligence
Babangida sought to clean up the reputation of the intelligence services with Decree 19, but there remains a great deal of continuity between the NSO and the SSS. In fact, the first chief of the DIA was Mohammed Lawal Rafindadi's predecessor as head of the NSO, General Aliyu Gusau.[4]

LOL. grin grin . See why I said you don't know much about these issues. NSO is not a sister agency of the SSS, she was SSS on steroids.

Now you said they are the worst agency to protect the president here...

CIA assets in a foreign country are not employed directly by the CIA. If there are CIA assets in Nigeria, those people will be in-touch with a handler (the CIA caseworker) that will act as a close friend of the asset. Here's the kicker, the Nigerian asset has NO way of knowing who the handler works for. The handler could be working for the Nigerian govt to help ferret out spies - this is called "false flag."
