Has he in anytime asked them why this award isn't being handed out on prime time? Why feel marginalized? Is he not aware that not all awards in an award show are handed out LIVE? Someone hit this kid with a Bag of Rock!!..BET again isn't even worried one bit to say the least.

For once I agree with the kid.

Like someone rightly said, if 'ordinary' BET (to even think BET is is for Black Entertainment makes it more sickly) can be this discriminately what else do African artistes expect from Grammy.

It's time for African performers to start boycotting this bullshit of an award.

Thank you Jare! Ordinary BET o. I remember when Dencia spoke against this last year when davido and tiwa won, they both came out to deny! lol. Now both Fuse ODG and Yemi Alade have said same!

Shame!

I like Wizkid for saying the truth and dis is the same reason Yemi Alade & Fuse ODG did not attend and they made it known to BET as well.

Now for all u ignorant Nairalanders attacking Wizkid for dis tweet, lemme tell u guys what u don't know. I dont see why BET should be discriminating against African Artistes in an award show like dis, shebi na black people we be?.

The gate keepers of the American music knows dat if they give African artistes a chance, they might steal their market in America. That's why they treat African artistes like second class citizens or pretend dat they don't know dat we got a vibrant music industry in Africa. African artistes need to wake up!! Come on, we don't need validation from the West to know dat we are good!!! Africa is a continent of over 800 million people!!! Who needs America They can keep their yeye backstage award. An award show dat most American A-List artiste did not even attend sef. 50 Cent was even blasting dem on an instagram video. Lets forget about dem. The BEST AFRICAN ACT AWARD sef no dey do anything for the artiste career sef. Na only title. The African market is soo huge and has sooo many potential, let our artistes explore dem, see how PSquare dem are breaking ground in North Africa.

I have soo many things to say about the American music industry and African American themselves. To start with, these Black Americans have a condescending attitude towards Africans even if u were born in the states. Infact, lemme leave it here, Akatas and their wahala too much.

So i support Wizkid, Yemi Alade & Fuse ODG for not attending, we are not fools. Dat was how Grammy Awards were giving Black Hiphop acts their awards backstage back in the day and they fought against it. Now they are coming to do it to their fellow Blacks too?? Cos we are Africans To hell with Dem!!! I support you Wizkid!!!

Take the moment to be mad at African Americans?? If you'd only realized the extent both how both Africans and African Americans are ultimately being played you'd realize how pointless it is for black slaves everywhere to be jostling for the title of whites favorite entertainer, politician, employee, student, etc.

He is right on point. BET and others should start taking artists of African origin seriously.
Which one is award by 10am and receiving award in the back stage. I support him on this one. All African musicians should boycott the show.
This was the same thing that oyibo people did to African Americans in the U.S through MTV.
Why should BET do the same thing to African musicians

Way to go WizKido!!

BET is no longer black owned. The owner sold it. I think its owned by the same company as E entertainment or MTV.

He is just telling you the obvious. He is not desperate. He does not want to be involved as a second class human. They can keep their awards. After all, he attended the show just to prove that he has gone past the level of "I must belong". [/quote

Its true. We are so over america.

For once, I agree with wizkid.

Do not let the name BET (black entertainment television) fool you. It has its own subtle agenda and doesn't represent the interest of blacks at all.

When civil right activist Correta Scott King died, it was not aired live on BET even if CNN and other prominent channel aired it. It begs the question why CNN, FOX, MSNBC aired it live but BET didn't.

African artist should simply boycott BET, the awards is just for title, nothing more

There's a difference between an African-American with an African. For example, if comedians like Cedric, Hart, etc should come in to Lagos for a show. How many people will connect with 'em let alone laugh? What's the difference between Wizkid's erroneous 'Show you my money' lyrics and 'In my bed'? So, how will he sound interesting in the presence of P. Diddy, Snoop and et al? The truth is, excluding P-Square these guys can be described in two words: LOCAL ACT
