Gurus pls help.

I use samsung galaxy s duos 7562 running android 4.0. I hv attempted rooting dis phone bt samsung kies never recognised it whenever connected to pc. I hv also downloaded and installed several samsung usb drivers yet when d phone is connected to pc, I keep having d error msg dat 'usb driver was not successflly installed'.

I hv tried diff. usb cables, did factory reset of d phone, did win7 updates on pc, usb debug ticked, etc yet d samsung kies wl nt recognise d phone.

Pls is there any other way around dis? Or can it be rooted and upgraded without pc? Are there other apps either .exe or .apk dat does dis better?

Pls I need 2 root and upgrade dis phone. Tks 4 your adv.

Have you tried the latest kingroot app?
I was having similar problem until the latest version of kingroot came to the rescue. I'm using LG optimus though.

Bros, I hv downloaded dif. samsung usb drivers., e.g. v1.5.45.0, v1.5.49.0, v1.5.50.0 etc ranging frm 11mb to 25mb yet cant seem 2 get thru. Can u kindly gv me link to a particular working usb driver? I appreciate.

(2). You need no PC connection. All you need is strong internet connection. Simply download the app and tap on "root" ,fold your arms and watch while the app do the rest.

To go back to stock you'll need an appropriate CWM backup or the stock firmware. (You need Odin for this)

You night need a custom ROM if there's no official upgrade for your phone. Search the xda forums for your device.

Tks again 4 being there. D phone is samsung galaxy s duos 7562. Pls hw do I ascertain dis? If u r probably refering to d options available when 'power + home + vol down' buttons are pressed, then here are d options I hv entering into Factory Mode:
. Full test
. Item test
. Test report
. Clear eMMC
. Reboot

.....U can unroot if u reload ur OS......

Hope dis wl nt still require plugging to pc: which was what brought abt all this stress? Tks in adv.

I once used S Duos GT7562 too, I went through hell before I finally succeeded in rooting it. Which by the way was very easy. Note! It's not in anyway upgradeable. It can never leave ICS. Your only hope of new and better os is custom rom, and sadly enough there aren't many custom ROMs for S Duos. You flash any how custom rom you run the risk of briking the phone. There's only two custom ROMs that I loved then. Kyle Open ROM and PMP™ ROM. They are both wonderful but I preferred kyle Open. It's got amazing addons too. Like Swapscript, for swaping your extSdCard to your internal memory, so you can play HD Games and all.

Enough of these, here's what you need do to root your S Duos GT7562

Download Poot apk
Download Ministro II from play store
Download Root checker basic apk
Install them
Go to settings and check debug

On your data
Make sure you have a stable Internet connection
Run Poot

It will ask you to update QT library, press update, then wait until it is updated.

When it's updated,, reboot your phone connect to the Internet
Run Poot again and press Poot
Your phone will automatically vibrate and reboot or off itself. On it and check if rooting was successful using root checker basic apk

If it's not successful, keep repeating this process, it is going to work. Atimes you may need to remove your SIM cards.
