Nobody forced you be a Nurse or a Doctor. Afterall, Government can pay N15,000 and deliver good medical care to everyone. Useless Government hospitals with crowded wards. Why should Government pay them big money?

The above is the thought of most of the Nigerians who will read this.

In the other thread, most were insulting medical workers for not accepting N15,000. I wonder who they will insult now?

I believe Nigerians should start the behavior of suing Medical workers. They should sue anyone that doesn't provide the medical services he/she renders to the society. Enough is enough. Afterall, the Government provides constant electricity to all the hospitals, supplies pipe borne water, up to date equipments and employs adequate personnels to all Government hospitals plus a working health care plan for every Nigerian. All medical workers are happy and well catered for. So why would this rubbish be happening or allowed to happen. We should start suing.

When will the ibo people get sense? You can never find a Rich ibo man doing his business "jeje" in Nigeria (His original country) agitate for this so called Biafra. I don't know why the ibo masses are so dumb and ret.arded. You'll would just end up losing your lives like "suya". Don't you learn from history? Even the devil incarnate called ojukwu was too cowardly to take a bullet from the Nigerian Army and just die for what he "believed" in,he was even to cowardly to commit suicide. Naija general problem. There should be primary healthcare centre in every ward in every local govt in naija. Health is wealth. Health workers should be well educated and compensated in this country. But instead, once u sabi hold needle, u don turn nurse and when u don sabi do abortion, u don turn doctor. I pity my country.

The problem in Nigeria is that everybody tries to wear a cloth that is not his. the nurse tries to pretend to everybody that she/he is a doctor, the GP doctor tries to pretend to everyone that he is a specialist. The people from the schools of health technology (CHEW) try to pretend as if they are nurses. Even nursing assistants who are just to help the nurses carry out certain tasks soon don the tag of nurses! Also, this is the case of these "auxillary nurses". Maximum, they should just perform as nurse assistants strictly under the nurses directions to "fetch this, carry that, do that" for the nurse, but everything in Nigeria is abused.

Op, auxiliary nurses are not quack as long as they work within the limit of their competencies as set by regulatory bodies. They become quacks when they assume the duties of Registered Nurses just like some Nurses who assume duties of Medical doctors.

You have limited knowledge on the topic of discussion. There is no regulatory body for auxiliary "nurses" aka quacks in our country.
The issue of competence isn't the subject of discourse but how illegal/ harmful it is for some profit minded individuals to churn out this half baked quacks to be used as a substitute for trained and board certified professionals not minding the detrimental effects on the patients.

Those behind d training of 'quacks' are doctors all because they wanna pay them less compared to paying registered nurses......auxilliary nurses are cheap but life is not cheap....BEWARE!!!

It was 2008,when busola visited an hospital for abortion and d doctor denied her saying it was impossible. But this so called auxiliary nurse invited her to her house and charged her for #20,000. She used her body for experiment she gave up d ghost during d process. D said nurse deposited her in d mortuary and lied that her husband was in Germany and she had miscarried before d woman fled. It took her parents some days before her body was discovered but nothing can be done.
This reminds me of ma younger brother that had an accident and was rushed to a near by hospital. The nurse on duty used a cotton wool on a fresh wound and d wound hasn't been healed since then whereas he is a goalkeeper and cannot dive on his right side
There was a day I had a minor accident in ma friend shop and I was bleeding,ma friend suggested dat I should visit d chemist own by auxiliary nurse beside him which I decline without wasting time.it was ma sister a trained nurse dat gave me anti tart anus and she stopped d bleeding.

That's how the other day I read the response of a nurse who answered a patients question on sulphonamide reactivity. The person wanted to know if it was safe to take Gentamicin sulphate since he had been told he reacts to sulphonamides. And a person introducing herself as a nurse warned him not to take it no matter who prescribed it! It was on yahoo answers. Just imagine! What you don't know why mislead people? It's sounds simple but just imagine. To the general literare public I have this to say. I believe that you are educated when you understand professional competencies and know where to go and whom to ask to get the right answers. For example when it comes to matters about drugs, medications, prescriptions etc, I always feel safest cross checking my prescriptions with a pharmacist. Life's lessons have taught me. Don't gamble with your life.

Those auxiliary nurses are uneducated, unexperience and quack.


That's how I saw a lady that could not pass her biology and chemistry in O Level doing auxiliary nurse in a private hospital. I was shocked because of the danger she poses to innocent patient.

She felt low seeing me because I know her root. The chemistry and biology, she didn't enrol again and latter went to do nursing.

How did the doctor screen her before accepting her into the hospital, I don't know. So the doctor should be a quack too for accepting someone without basic O level.

Ever since then. I don't allow those so called auxiliary nurses to administer drugs, injections or treatment on me.

Hmmm na wa O. Ordinary paracetamol abi? That drug that can finish the liver Kia Kia with a simple overdose. I'm baffled how people see that drug as ordinary. On another note can you see the difference in competencies? Your sister is a trained nurse and that's why she did the right thing. Arrest the bleeding and then give the tetanus toxoid 0.5ml Stat. That simple injury you had has ended many lives O.
