please fellow nairalanders am currently in my 100level in a university in the eastern part of nigeria,I have faced so many intimidation since last year that I entered the school from cult groups because am a "jew" man as they put it....now what is on my mind is joining one of the cult groups so as to end the daily intimidation/driving am getting. please should I go ahead and join them? or am I on the verge of making a costly mistake? |

RepEnugu:There are no benefits in joining a cult or confra but there are lots of disadvantages. Your life will always be in danger. Joining a group automatically labels you a target for the axe or bullet of other cult groups. Your academics will suffer. They'll give you a call to show up in a joint during lecture hours. They'll give you a call to show up at some joints at night when you should be reading. Of course you dare not decline not going. They'll milk you dry. Someone in the name of been a lord will be living on the money you sweated for/your parents gave you. 98% of them never graduate with their classmates. They always have extension. I could go on and on. DON'T JOIN THEM!! If they keep disturbing you, report them to the police or army. That will be the last time you'll hear from them. 3 Likes |

RepEnugu: Son there's an inscription on the entrance of John .F. Kennedy High School, Denver, which reads; ''Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army''. Joining a cult at this stage of your academic pursuit would only be to the detriment of your studies. Unless you possess an IQ that's as high as that of Einstein's, it would be pretty difficult for you to get along with studies being a cultist. I've been there and I know what I am talking about. There would be a hell lot of distractions to contend with. Meetings, functions, initiations, wars etc. Best you can do at the moment is to become an active member of a church around the campus or a fellowship. Kush niccurs finds it difficult to drive guys who belong to a religious group. There are few perks to enjoy being a cultist, but the downside is enormous. 1 Like |
