No fewer than 50 people were killed and many
others injured when two bombs went off in
Gombe central market, where customers were
making last-minute Ramadan shopping on
Thursday evening.
An eyewitness, Mallam Ibrahim Mohammed, who
sells oranges in the market, told newsmen that the
first bomb went off at exactly 5:20pm with the
second exploding a few metres away from where
the first went off.
Narrating his experience amid tears, the distraught
young man said he saw about 50 dead bodies.
A member of the Nigeria Red Cross Society, who
pleaded anonymity, said he counted about 48
dead bodies and that the corpses were deposited
at the mortuary of the Specialist Hospital and
Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.
Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kudu
Nma, confirmed the incident.
He said, “There was a bomb blast. The (bomber)
was either on a suicide mission or (may be) the
bombs were kept somewhere with the view to
causing panic and apprehension to people.”
According to him, the bomb exploded at the
Sabon Layi footwear market.
“People were busy shopping in preparation for the
Sallah festival. The casualties are yet to be
ascertained. As you can see, people are busy
working, trying to save lives; for now we cannot
tell you the number of casualties,” the police
commissioner said.
He said the police had condoned off the place to
avoid looting, adding that relative calm had
returned to the area.
Nma called on the public to be vigilant and report
any suspicious movement to security agents. http://www.punchng.com/news/50-die-in-gombe-market-bombings/ cc lalasticlala |

Change has come. Change from once in 1 or 2months bombing to once or twice a day bombing. Change from 2-10 people dying per explosion to 20-100 people dying. Change from a government who sees Boko Haram as enemies of the state to Government hu sees an attack on Boko Haram as an attack on thé North. Change from a Government hu jails Boko Haram members to Government hu frees Boko Haram members. Change from a Government that imposes road blocks to check movement of Boko Haram activities to a Government that removes road block so Boko Haram can expand their territories. Change from a secular government to a jihadist government. MY BROTHERS IN THE NORTH, THIS IS THE CHANGE U CLAMOURED, DIED AND KILLED FOR. HOPE U ARE ENJOYING IT? |

Sad to say this but I have to add this line. Gombe voted massively for Buhari. There is a strong possibility that 2/3 of the dead must have sincerely voted for Buhari with hopes that he will alleviate their situation. For Muhamadu Buhari to keep mute on the sufferings of his supporters tells us a lot about the true nature of this man. He prefers his fumbling spokesmen to give the messages while he continues confused and in a state of dementia. Barrack Obama makes it a point to personally speak on such attacks in his country and around world. Buhari has a long way to go as a Leader. Barrack Obama http://www.ibtimes.com/chattanooga-shooting-president-obama-says-rampage-marine-killings-are-heartbreaking-2012747 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/9746665/US-school-shooting-President-Obama-cries-as-he-expresses-condolences-to-victims.html http://www.nationaljournal.com/white-house/obama-charleston-shooting-south-carolina-statement-20150618 May God grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear this painful and avoidable loss. 1 Like 1 Share |

The north destroying itself is a welcome development to us so far as they do not cross the Onitsha Niger bridge. Kudos to the Northerners for doing a good job over there.
