Rubbish! I guess you are schooling in MIT? I'm not freaked about foreign universities. All I want is for our universities to be funded adequately so as to compete with those abroad.

This can be considered as Crap!! why are Nigerian Politician sending their children to the United Kingdom for Education, don't they believe in the Education system and sector they promised Heaven and hell to deliver on. Nigerian undergraduates face a lot of trouble from getting admission to even passing examination when some lecturers will deliberately fail you because they believe 'A' is for God and no one must finish well. Yes Preference matters, Politicians, if you are reading this, you can all send your children anywhere even if its to the moon. BUT PLEASE, invest in our education sector, Pay our lecturers well and give us good infrastructure. President Buhari kindly don't forget the Educational sector in Nigeria, if it's possible enforce a rule that public office holders must not send their kids abroad for education except for masters.

1. Gov. Rochas Okorocha’s Son Graduates From University Of Manchester With First Class

The Governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his wife Nneoma Theresa Okorocha were in Manchester where they attended the graduation ceremony of their son Ahamefula Brendan Rochas who graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class in mechanical engineering.

Until the children of politicians are conditioned to attend public schools here in Nigeria it only then our educational standard will reach the heights it's supoose to attain . They travel to get first class and their parents who are controlling the nation subject the poor man's child to zero educational infrastructures to aid learning

First....it isn';t just the pols....many Nigerians of all classes are sending the kids out of the country.

Second....consider this.

In 2009....ASUU went on strike....and got the govt to promise the universities N3trillion in extra funding...a large chunk of which was to go on facilities. (Check the 2009 agreement...chapter 4 for details).

By 2013, Govt had not paid up. So ASUU went on strike again....and govt told ASUU the truth. There was no N3trillion naira available.

Instead....1trillion was offered...and that over 5 years. ASUU reluctantly agreed, and the deal was signed.

And at the end of the day....only 200million has been paid. The rest of that money has not been paid...and may never be paid...because of dwindling revenues from oil.

Our universities need money. All the universities that the rich kids you listed attend...all of them have budgets higher than $100million. Nigerian universities can only boast of $10million.....if they are lucky. Additionally, the white kids there pay hefty fees...which form part of the unis annual budget. (Fees as high as $50000 in some prestigious American universities. In the UK...$8000-11000). In Nigeria...fees are kept as low as $1000...even less than that. Guess which one has the first class facilities.

Also....in obodo oyinbo...people pay hefty taxes to make sure that they have good public amenities. In Nigeria....are you people prepared to pay tax at the rate they do in the UK?

So...the rich vote with their feet...as do many other Nigerians.

We could solve the issue....but that means either we raise fees (which you Nigerians do not like), we raise taxes (which will prompt revolts)....or we diversify our economy away from oil and into industries so that we can have the funds needed for uni education(which you Nigerians do not like...you want to chop oil money all day long).

Until we make the tough choices needed....by privatising our unis, raising fees, and even taxes, and spending more on technical education(you can have a good life with technical education).....we wil forever have poor universities and the rich will go out for education. And the time will come when the poor with poor uni education lose out to grads from foreign unis.

That is to say, even our so call leaders know that they are not leading well, hence they took their children to countries where there are true leaders.
