Mushroom cultivation is waste converted to wealth because mushrooms, unlike other crops, is unique and raw materials are readily available and cheap. As we all know mushrooms grow on old fallen trees but to be able to produce mushroom in large quantities for commercial purpose, it has to be planted with sawdust which is a waste product but that is what a mushroom farmer needs to create wealth and employ labour.
Mushroom will give a farmer a 100% return on investment within one year to six months, this is no joke. It is a reality. Mushroom can be harvested daily for six months to one year. As a matter of fact, it is the most prolific agricultural venture, as a mushroom farmer you don't need to wait for six months for your crops to mature, when you plant mushrooms after incubation for one month, you will start harvesting daily and the good thing is that the market has not been saturated people need mushroom daily but don't get enough. I know very well that hotels, supermarkets, eateries, and Chinese restaurants need mushrooms for pizza and other continental dishes.
Having said that, I want to give a list of the items needed for mushroom farming, as I said earlier, you need saw-dust to plant mushrooms not the normal soil and you will need a structure to house your crops, the reason is that mushroom doesn't need direct sunlight to survive. what you need is
1. A wasteland
2. .A structure (known as cropping house)
3. Hose with sprinkler or watering can
4. Sawdust in colonized bags
These are the basic things any mushroom farmer will need to start a mushroom farm.

Mushroom cultivation also known as "converting waste to wealth" is the most versatile and prolific agricultural venture all over the world. This is because you need little or no capital to start a mushroom farm, all inputs are mainly agricultural wastes – sawdust, rice bran, wheat bran, corn cob, water hyacinth, cotton waste, millet, cocoa waste and guinea corn waste etc. Once planted, mushroom can be harvested and on a daily basis thereby creating wealth for the mushroom farmer within six months to one year.
