We are heavily consuming the foreign products while we failed to develop our local industries and resources. This is the bane of importing dependent economy.

Bail out should be released on time and FG should criminalise the diversion or its use order than the purpose it is meant to serve.

That campaign promise was published PROMINENTLY in at least three newspapers on March 23 i.e. five days before the elections. You either show us where Buhari denied the promise made BEFORE the elections or you STFU, deal

Tell him to change the country economy team. If the present set of team are still there, we will still be witnessing the same result - Naira losing value. There are credible people who can help the economy. Let Buhari inject new blood into the economy system, and let us see if there will not be change in Naira value etc.

Lazy leaders, most of these foolish state executives actually govern their states from Abuja. Until we have true federalism or divide the contraption called Nigeria for each zone to fend for themselves, there will never be progress.

Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) just charge me N209.68/$ just now for the transaction I made using my Visa Card online.

Why? that is additional 6.5% on top CBN rate of N197/$

I was waiting before, hoping "Baba Go Slow" meant business, I now see that the grandpa is "Super Clueless", I rather pay my bill before the rate turns to N500/$ as speculated by Dangote.

I still need further clarification from SCB anyway. angry

But PMB promised that =N=1 will $1

When will this come to pass

Maybe the governors will be able to talk some sense into buhari that will make him sit up and try to find a solution to the problem. He simply can't continue like this and pretend as if there is no problem .

Why won't they worry when it means the funds they siphon outside the country would be a smaller amount as a result of the higher exchange rate. Bunch of jokers.

FORUMgod:
Nigeria governors have expressed worry over the high exchange rate of Naira to other foreign currencies.

They have therefore said this and other issues would be discussed with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday.

This was one of the resolutions arrived at by the governors after their meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night.

The meeting, which ended in the early hours of Thursday, was attended by majority of the governors.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Zamafara State, Alhaji Abdullaziz Yari, read the communique of the meeting to journalists.

It was gathered that Naira is being exchanged for about 243 to a dollar at parallel market.

Yari said, “We are going to discuss with Mr. President to seek lasting solutions to the worsening macroeconomic challenges confronting the nation, especially on foreign exchange stability.

“The forum pledges to work with Mr. President to ensure coherent policy actions that will create a clear policy direction for the country and stimulate domestic production.”He also said the forum discussed health issues and that the governors pledged to cooperate with the Federal Government to ensure that the National Health Act is operational.”

According to him, “Sequel to presentation made by the Country Representative of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the forum agreed to aggressively support the total eradication of polio in the country.”

The NGF chairman denied the insinuations in some quarters that the money given to the states was meant to bail them out of their financial crisis.

Rather, he said what was shared was money from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited and Federation Accounts Allocation Committee, which, he said, were legitimate earnings for the three tiers of the government.

The governor said, “It is also to inform our brothers in the media that yet the federal government has not given any bailout to any of the states.

“What had been shared last time was monies from NLNG and FAAC and as we have been saying, we have not been looking for bailout, instead, we have been looking for all monies that are in the coffers of the federation account, most especially we are talking about some of the monies that are hung around the coffers of government to be brought together for the purpose of sharing.”

these crooks are worried that their luxuries are going to be imported at a higher than expected rate this year and the value of their loots in various anonymous bank accounts abroad is falling thanks to a falling naira. One of he questions I ask these governors is; how many campaign promises have they fulfilled during their terms in office? How many new investments have they made with the little revenue their respectives states generate? How many of them have ultimately paid their workers salaries? Name one governor in Nigeria who has no foreign bank account? Name one governor in Nigeria whose personal worth is less than half the value of the ten local governments in his state? Name one governor whose convoy of personal and official cars is less than N2 billion? What productive ventures have they initiated in their states? Most of them wait for Federal allocation to take their share. Enough of this noise.

I see all politicians in Nigeria as wolves in sheep's clothing?

Buhari does not have a solution to these problems, where the CBN governor is acting as coordinating minister of economy and minister of finance as where as CBN governor.
