Students of University Of Jos Medical
Laboratory Science have paid tribute to
seven of their colleagues, students who
lost their lives in the May 20th, 2014
bomb blast that occurred at the ever
busy Terminus area of Jos metropolis
which left over 70 people dead.

As against this background, it was a free
flow of tears during the second induction
and oath taking ceremony of 70
graduating medical Laboratory Scientists
of the University.

It would be recalled that seven medical
Laboratory Science students of the
institution were killed in a twin blast in
May, 2014 while returning to their hostel
after a hematology lecture.

The seven students would have been
among those to be inducted if they had
not been cut down in their prime by the
perpetrators of this in-human act.

However, the slain heroes are Yusuf Miri,
Okafor Vivien, Ogbole Michael, Komolafe
Oluwadolapo Lydia, Francisva Nwafor,
Udegbunem Doris and Wungak Monday.
According to Udoh Sekenimide, class
representative in a tribute during their
induction and oath taking ceremony at
the multi- purpose hall of the University
of Jos, he said life can be unfair, but God
is the only one who knew that
hematology would be the last lecture
that they would share.

In his words, “ You lost the fight for life,
yet you conquered death, we had to go
through the last year with a vacuum in
our hearts that even time has failed to
fill.”

He further stressed, “But friends, we
continue to console ourselves as
believers, knowing nothing loved is ever
lost and you were all loved very much,
continue to rest in the embrace of the
Almighty, till we meet in eternity.”
