On Saturday 25th of July, Chief(Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, the deputy Governor of Ogun state arrested no fewer than 45 people in Sagamu and Ijebu Ode, who profaned the environmental sanitation law of the State.
According to reports, Mrs. Onanuga didn't only monitored the exercise but also participated in the removing of some refuse and drainage in some region of the 2 towns.
She arrested 20 motorists and 25 passers-by who were found roaming about the street.
She ordered the environmental officers who were with her at the particular time to arrest the offenders.
During the exercise, Mrs. Onanuga scowled the residents on their nonchalant attitude concerning the sanitation.
Some markets were also locked on order at Oke Aje market in Ijebu Ode.
She also recommended the residents to have right mentality towards maintaining clean and hygienic environment.
She also notified residents to abstain from dumping refuse bags or waste bins on the road sides.
