Btw The President had better ask himself how the Airforce then achieved better under the administration of his predecessors 'cos I'm not buying this tis recent excuse. /complaint. Why accept the role of president if you'll spend more time complaining that actually working? His predecessor met an airforce that had a few attack helicopters and F-7 fighter jets, yet he went to work reactivating the Alpha jet squadrons, fixed our C-130s and G-222s, bought our ATR-48 surveillance aircrafts + Beech crafts aircrafts used as ISR birds, bought additional Mi-35V and Mi24P attack helicopters + the Mi-35m, bought CH-3A unmanned combat aerial vehicles, reactivated our long comatose Super Puma helicopters, bought Gazelle scout helicopters. All these aircrafts were busy providing much needed support for ground troops during the offensive against Boko Haram.

Now I'm not saying that we don't need more airframes (we more new 4-gen strike aircrafts and additional transport helicopters for more air assaults along with more ISR platforms for intelligence gathering). But GMB, for the love of God, quit whining and GET TO WORK.

Which predecessor?? Was it not under the last administration that large expanse of Nigerian land were seized by insurgents?? Till today, part of Nigeria is still controlled by insurgents. That could not have happened with an effective airforce.

Ask those in the know.. The Nigerian Air force at the moment is not sufficiently equipped for the war. That is what the president alluded to. The aircrafts are too few for a truly effective war.

I believe PMB purposely criticised the NAF so they could wake up to their duties.
If your boss criticises your work you got no choice but to soji yourself otherwise na gobe for you.

Wrong to some extent because sometimes the fire power of the boko haram boys surpass that of our own troops so the Nigerian air force is to make things easier for the ground troops the four faces of war says and I quote:
1.Advance.
2.Attack .
3.Defend
4.withdraw.

so during the second face you need the support of the air force so that mopping up will be easier too for the section commanders.

I agree with you on the need for Combat Air Support. But please ask yourself this question: when last did the Army record a large amount of casualties or were bogged down in the past few months? Even during the recapture of Dikwa, didn't NAF ISR bird and Alpha jets provide the much Intel and combat air support that helped in the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defence) ops that preceeded the main land ops were 3-4 Boko Haram AA guns mounted on trucks were destroyed? And for the first time after a very very long while, NAF is flying Air Assault sorties with Puma Helicopters and Mi-35 Attack helicopters, inserting Army Special Forces (72nd Mobile Strike Force included) operators in pre - selected LZs in this war against BH.

Indeed we will get. But the job of transforming the military already began with the past administration of GEJ. Thanks to him the military was equipped with newer platforms and weapons, with the resurgence of our own local defence industry experienced. So far we've not seen any input from GMB apart from the change of guard at the 3 services, but we await to see what he'll do next.

Must every thread go tribal with useless touts like you? What do the Igbos have to do with this? Last I checked, ex-president GEJ and the PDP got its support, regardless of its size, from all the states in country. So why focus on the Igbos only?

most weapons bought during gej are refurbished Gej tried to some extent but the ex coas need to be investigated becos corruption was at is peak in the military that is what brought about indiscipline from troops then in the military my bro change is here now

No it happened at the start of the 6 weeks offensive under GEJ'S watch, NOT under the current dispensation. And the right men (eg the GOC 7th Division) were at the helm of affairs then. Btw, you post kinda contradicts your previous position about lack of air assets to prosecute this war.

Buhari made a mess of them on national TV.

All of a sudden they became very active in combating BH.

If you cannot connect the dots, then your case is hopeless.

Hint: kicking a tiger in the a#ss to wake it up. People are trying to protect their jobs in this area of sacking.

Again wrong. Besides there's nothing wrong in refurbishing our weapons as it clearly proves that GEJ revived the our military. As for the weapons procured, they were a mix of brand new platforms (eg Bigfoot MRAPs, IKRI LCAVs, CH-3A UCAVS, REVA MRAPs, BTR-4 IFVs, etc) and upgraded systems like the T-72AVs and -M series main battle tanks and possibly the BVP-1 IFVs.
