On Tuesday 28th July, 2015 the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. MacJohn Nwaobiala while interacting with State House correspondents after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on his ministry’s activities and educational challenges at the Presidential Villa, Abuja pointed at the new admission policy by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). That the policy had led to protests in some parts of the country as certain candidates who applied to the University of Lagos were unable to register for the school’s Post UTME after the school allegedly made use of 250 marks as a screening benchmark.
